“Oh honey,” Piper exclaimed “Thank goodness you’re here. Can you please help your brother with the balloons and the banner, he’s just in the kitchen, blowing up the balloons!” Chris smiled at his mother’s happiness and his brother’s predicted annoyance. “Sure mum.” He headed towards the kitchen whilst looking around the restaurant, many people were helping and he saw a glimpse of Piper and the bride’s mother talking about the order of things. He giggled to himself in amusement. He pushed the kitchen door open and there in the corner by the utensils, he saw his brother. Wyatt. Slowly blowing up balloons using a pump, then tying three balloons together and putting them in the corner. He looked incredibly bored and wanted to go. He then glanced up and he saw Chris. His face lit up. “Hey!” Wyatt said, as he stood up and gave his brother a hug. “Hey!” Chris said, returning his brother’s affection. “How’s your day been?” Wyatt glared at him, and Chris smiled at his brother’s reaction. “Oh well, it’s been an adventure (!) I started my day cleaning glasses, then folding menus, then napkin folding and now I am blowing up balloons in trios…(!)” Wyatt said irritably, his voice full of sarcasm. “I don’t think you could have jammed any more sarcasm in that sentence. Even if you tried.” Chris remarked. “How you doubt me.” Wyatt smiled. “What about you, little brother, how has your day been?” Wyatt asked, whilst tying another knot into a golden balloon. “Ermm…certainly eventful and full of revelations…” Chris said, whilst recalling his conversation with Bianca. Wyatt stopped what he was doing and he glanced at Chris with concern. “Do you need to talk about something Chris? You know I’m always here if you need to talk. You know that right?” Chris smiled fondly at his brother, knowing that what he speaks is the truth. “Yeah Wy I know. It’s nothing. Just something that happened the other night. And before you ask I am not telling you, well not until I get more details myself.” Wyatt smiled at Chris. “Okay.” He said. Chris shrugged off his jacket and folded it over a nearby chair, next to Wyatt’s and he sat down next to his brother and helped him, make the job, the most enjoyable as he could manage.

A few hours later, the restaurant was packed full of people. Drinking, dancing, eating and overall just enjoying themselves. Chris spotted his mum and dad, by the bar, he strolled towards them. “Hey honey!” Piper said, whilst giving Chris a massive hug. Chris returned her affection, warmly. “Hey mum.” He said. “Everything going okay?” Piper sighed “Yeah I guess, I’m just worried the fire department, might shut us down. I am pretty sure we are over occupancy in here. I mean you can barely move!” She exclaimed with worry. Leo smiled warmly at his wife and gently massaged her shoulders. “Piper honey, you did great. Everyone is happy and enjoying themselves and we are not over occupancy, you have checked 6 times.” He said whilst rolling his eyes. “Your hard work paid off, everyone’s hard work paid off.” She visibly relaxed. “Thanks Leo.” He smiled and kissed his wife lovingly. Chris smiled at his parent’s happiness and affection. Then he felt someone jab him in his back causing him to turn sharply. “Do you not know how to answer your phone, email and text messages?!” Chris’ sister looked at him, with anger. Chris was confused momentarily, then he remembered the conversation he had with his father just this morning. “I am so sorry, Mel!” He exclaimed. She sighed and looked away in mock disgust. “Hey come on. Don’t be like that.” Chris said, feeling guilty. Mel smiled at Chris and enveloped him into a massive hug. This took Chris by surprise but returned her hug with no hesitation. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages.” “Me too, Mel!” “I was going to say that there is a meeting at magic school after this. The whole family is going!” “Oh okay!” He says, responding with the same amount of enthusiasm she did. Mocking her.
