The two sat down at the dinner table and ate their dinner while laughing and chatting with each other. Taehyung would look at Jungkook a few times and whenever he did, he would always catch Jungkook staring at him, which would immediately make him turn away.
"Ah, Your Highness, I was informed by Your Majesty that the month is going to end in three days, and so the divorce papers will be authorized. Then we will be able to get married really soon" Mijin spoke as she blushed and pushed her hair behind her ears.
Taehyung was shell-shocked since he didn't even realize when the month passed by. He looked at Jungkook who was standing expressionless as if he wasn't even affected by the news they just received.
He scoffed, feeling pathetic for feeling sad over it when it doesn't even bother Jungkook.
After they were done, Taehyung walked Mijin out with him, Jungkook walking behind them.
"You could stay the night here, princess. It is a bit dangerous going back at this hour" Taehyung spoke out of pure worry while Mijin blushed.
"I am touched by your concern, your highness, albeit, as much as I would love to stay, mother and father have to go back to the kingdom early in the morning tomorrow" Mijin said as she fiddled with her hair.
"I understand" He said as he gave her a genuine smile.
"So, to make sure that his highness does not miss me, I will leave a small memory of mine with your highness" She said before pulling Taehyung's shoulder down and pecking him on the lips, although her eyes were stuck on Jungkook, mocking him.
Taehyung's eyes widened as he looked at Mijin who had already gone inside the carriage.
"Have a Good Night, Your Highness" She said and waved as the carriage took off but Taehyung was too shocked to respond to that.
He looked behind him to see Jungkook standing and it was almost as if he froze. He knows that he shouldn't care about whatever Jungkook is thinking right now, but there was something inside him that wanted to know what was going inside Jungkook's mind.
He looked down as if he had just done something bad and walked inside the castle, Jungkook walking behind him.
Jungkook bowed to Taehyung who looked at him silently, not knowing what to speak.
"I will have dinner now, Master. If you need anything, please call me. Good night, Master" Jungkook said and did not even wait to hear Taehyung's answer and left from there.
Taehyung just stared at his retreating figure before huffing.
"Why should I be worried for him? He does not even care about it" Taehyung sadly spoke to himself as if he was expecting some kind of response from Jungkook. Anything that showed that he cared for him; sadness, anger or hurt, but he was met with the ever expressionless face of Jungkook. He did not realize but it did disappoint him.
He walked upstairs and busied himself with work. There was so much that he did not want to think about.
__
Taehyung yawned as he stretched his arms out. He did not even realize for how long he was reading. He looked at the clock which showed that it was half-past midnight. He removed his glasses and rubbed his eyes.
"Jungkook" He called for the other but received no answer. It confused him. This was the first time Jungkook was not there when he called otherwise he would not even need to call him and Jungkook would already be standing over his head.
He stood up from his seat and opened the door to see that no one was there, so he went downstairs to look for Jungkook. He called for him so many times but still didn't receive an answer and now it was starting to annoy/worry him.
His voice caused the butler to come out of his room.
"What happened, your highness?" He asked.
"Where is Jungkook?" "Jungkook is in his room, your highness" The butler replied.
"Alright. Please continue your sleep" Taehyung said before walking towards Jungkook's room.
"Jungkook! I have been calling for you for so long, what have you—" Taehyung halted in the middle of his sentence when he opened the door to Jungkook's room and looked at the other.
His eyes widened with shock and anger as he walked inside.
"Jungkook?! Are you drinking?!" He asked as he looked at the two bottles of liquor lying beside Jungkook, who was sitting on his bed.
The accused male looked up from the ground with drowsy eyes and slowly stood up, stumbling in the process.
"Yes," He said, surprising Taehyung that he did not even use honorifics that he is so proud of.
He furiously snatched the bottle away from Jungkook.
"What is going inside your mind that you did this?!" Taehyung asked as he threw the bottle to the side but received no response.
"What do you think is going on inside my mind for me to be like this, huh?" Jungkook retorted which shocked Taehyung to the core.
"Look at yourself! Talking to me like this!" Taehyung chided and noticed Jungkook getting closer to him.
"I cannot talk to you like this? Are you not my husband, Tae?" Jungkook asked as he walked closer to Taehyung who couldn't believe his ears.
"Is this a joke, Jeon Jungkook?" Taehyung frowned, trying to back away but his back was met with the closed door.
"Stop pushing my buttons, Kim Taehyung" Jungkook spoke in a deep voice as he caged Taehyung between his arms and the door, one arm wrapping around his waist.
Taehyung looked at Jungkook with eyes filled with shock and confusion. When did Jungkook ever become like this?
"Do you even know how hard it is to resist myself whenever I'm near you?" Jungkook said, leaning closer to Taehyung.
Taehyung lifted his arms to push Jungkook away but Jungkook pinned them above Taehyung's head, making the other go wide-eyed.
"Do you think you are the only one who has been suffering, Kim Taehyung?" Jungkook asked as he put pressure on Taehyung's wrists.
"Do you think I do not care when everyone looks down upon our marriage, including you? Do you think I do not care when you tell me you hate me? Do you think I do not care when some bitch suddenly comes and tells me to stay away from you?" Jungkook squinted his eyes as he spoke, anger dripping from his voice. Taehyung gasped hearing profanity from Jungkook's mouth because even if Jungkook was drunk, he would never do something like that.
"Do you even know how badly I want to wipe the touch of her lips on yours off with mine?" Jungkook said as he leaned closer to Taehyung, his breath fanning over Taehyung's lips.
"How dare she even touch something that is mine?" Jungkook's voice had shifted into a whisper as he entangled his hands with Taehyung's, an inch away from kissing Taehyung
Taehyung could speak nothing; he just had his eyes wide as he looked into Jungkook's droopy eyes, locked with his. He could feel his heart beating rapidly through his chest, he could feel every hair on his skin stand up, a feeling he was void of even when Mijin kissed him.
Jungkook squeezed Taehyung's cheeks with one of his hand and made him look into his eyes.
"Go and tell her that you belong to this servant of yours, Master" Jungkook spoke before letting his head drop down on Taehyung's shoulder.
And Taehyung? He wasn't even in a state to push Jungkook away or run away. His legs had turned jelly, and there was a hurricane of thoughts running through his mind.
He looked at Jungkook who had fallen asleep on his shoulder and quietly placed him down on the bed, covering him with the blanket and leaving his room.
He quietly went inside his bedroom and closed the door. He cupped his mouth as he let himself fall on the ground, a crimson blush over his face.
Because what just happened was beyond his imagination and expectations.
But the only thing he is scared of now is facing Jungkook tomorrow.
