Taehyung's heart stopped beating for a second when he heard those words. He looked down for a moment before looking up again and showing everyone a pressed smile.
"Noted" was the only word that came out of his mouth since he knew if he spoke more than that, his voice would crack up.
The King and Queen gathered around Jungkook and Taehyung who were standing in front of the priest who placed the papers on the table and requested the two to sit down.
The two glanced at each other and exchanged two small smiles. Taehyung, with shaky hands, picked up the feather and dipped it in the ink. He gulped as the words on the papers turned blurry for him, and the feather that was oh-so light felt so heavy in his hand. With a trembling hand and a shattering heart, he signed the papers, blinking so hard to not let his tears spill on the paper.
And Jungkook, so badly wanted to hold Taehyung and give him support. The King and Queen looked so happy that their son will finally be able to marry and inherit the throne.
Jungkook stared at the papers that were forwarded to him, waiting for him to sign them. He picked up the feather and took his hand forward to sign it; everyone was looking at him impatiently to sign the papers instead of Taehyung who was too heartbroken to even look at Jungkook.
But suddenly, Jungkook halted in the middle of his actions and everyone around him looked at him with surprised expressions over their faces.
"Jungkook, what happened? Why are you not signing the papers?" The Queen asked in confusion and the words made Taehyung whip his head towards Jungkook who was still staring at the papers with the pen in his hand.
"Jungkook, it is my order. Sign the papers" The King spoke and he was surprised to see his ever-so loyal servant stay still to his orders.
After a moment, he finally spoke.
"I deeply apologize, Master. I cannot do this" He spoke making the King and Queen gasp while Taehyung looked at him with shocked eyes.
"What are you saying, Jungkook?!" The King exclaimed and saw Jungkook stand up, Taehyung standing up after him as he looked at Jungkook speechlessly.
"I apologize but this time, this servant cannot follow His Majesty's orders" He said as he bowed.
"Do you wish to be beheaded, Jungkook?" The Queen said, glaring at Jungkook.
"I wish to be beheaded rather than signing these divorce papers, Your Grace" He said as he held his head low.
"Explain your reasons, Jungkook" The King coldly spoke.
"Because I love Master. I love Master endlessly" As soon as Jungkook said that, everyone in the room gasped.
"I came here with a prepared mind to sign the documents, but as I stand here, I cannot find the courage or will to sign them. I love Taehyung so much that I find it difficult that I just cannot do it. I apologize, Master" Jungkook spoke as he bowed again.
"How dare you say that in front of me, Jungkook?!" The King yelled, his face burning with fury.
"To think that I looked at you as a loyal servant but you go behind my back and fall in love with the prince who has a fiancé! Have you got any shame?!" Jungkook just held his head low as he heard the King shout at him.
"Is this the reason why you agreed to go with Taehyung to the castle?! So that you could make my son fall for your trap?!" The Queen said, raising her hand to slap the man, but she halted as she heard someone's voice thunder across the room.
"Enough!" Taehyung yelled as he came out in front of Jungkook, the said man looking up at Taehyung with surprised eyes.
"Enough. You have no right to yell at my man!" What he said made his parents go speechless as they looked at each other with shell-shocked eyes.
