Previously:
You stood up and walked out to be greeted by the sight of Beacon Academy in all it's glory. As well as that sick blonde from earlier off to the side puking his guts out.
Currently:
When you were done taking it all in, you noticed Ruby ahead of you. She was alone and seemed dizzy. Until she fell backwards onto a luggage cart. When you caught a good glimpse of the owner of said cart. You saw Weiss Schnee.
It didn't take long for Weiss to start yelling at Ruby, going on and on about her clumsiness and how she shouldn't even be here.
Watching her rant made you realize that your parents helped you dodge a bullet.
Back when you were younger her father attempted an arranged marriage between you two. With the help of your parents you were able to keep out of it.
As she was ranting you realized that Ruby was about to sneeze. It didn't take long for it to happen, and the resulting explosion made you recoil. It was a beautiful explosion though with the mixture of the elements.
A jar of dust rolled out of the explosion and stopped on impact with the shoe of someone next to you. Following the leg it was attached to, you saw Blake who seemed to have snuck up next to you.
She proceeded to pick it up and make her way to towards ground zero of the explosion. She was still reading her book the entire time. You wish you could multi-task like that.
Snapping out of your observation, you followed her.
"Unbelievable, this is just the kind of the thing I was talking about!" Oh god, even after getting nearly blown off a cliff, she was still yelling.
Ruby was pushing her index fingers together and was desperately try to apologize. "I'm sorry."
"You absolute idiot, what are you even doing here? Aren't you a little too young to be attending Beacon?" At this point Ruby was having a hard time even forming words. "This isn't your typical, run of the mill combat school with sparring and dummies. We're fighting actual monsters."
Ruby clearly had enough at this point, "I said I was sorry princess!"
"It's heiress actually." You and Blake had finally made it to the event. "Weiss Schnee heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, the largest producer of energy propellant in the world."
"Aha, finally some recognition!" Despite Weiss' celebration, you felt there was a "but" that was coming up.
"The same company infamous for it's controversial labor forces, and questionable business partners."
Huh, who would've thought. You weren't really well-versed in the business dealings of the world. You preferred to keep to your family's expertise of monsters and their extermination.
With that internal monologue Weiss was off leaving her servants to cleanup her luggage for her. Despite being apart of it, you couldn't handle high-society.
Blake also attempted to leave but you held her back. You figured it would be good for the both of them to be friends.
Ruby called her, "I promise I'll make it up to you!" She then turned around to see you there with you hand on Blake's upper arm. "So, thanks for that."
Blake just rolled her eyes and nodded. You decided that in order to get them to talk to each other you needed start the conversation. "So Blake, this is Ruby. Ruby this is Blake." They gave each other a greeting and then silence ensued again. God this was getting no where. With Ruby's anxiety and Blake's introverted nature you kind of gave up.
You then thought about it and realized a topic that would get Ruby excited. "So I got this thing." You unfurled your whip from your hip, and cracked it. "I have a few other things too but their all thrown weapons."
Ruby's eye lit up again, despite already being introduced to your whip. "I got my Crescent Rose, it's a scythe and a high-impact sniper rifle." She unfolded her weapon from behind her back and the blade made a small crack in the concrete of the sidewalk.
"Blake, it's your turn."
She pulled out her weapon, "This is Gambol Shroud. It's base is a pistol, but it has a Katana, and kusarigama (Chain Scythe) made. It's sheathe is also a cleaver weapon I can use to help dual-wield."
You felt inadequate now. They both had complicated weapons and you were there with the basics.
Wallowing in your self pity while Ruby bonded to Blake and pestered her about Gambol Shroud, a third party "Hi my name's Jaune, short, sweet, and ladies love it" You jumped a bit, he snuck up on you.
Ruby stopped her little invasion of Blake's weapon to question that statement, "Do they?"
"So far, 0 for 2" Blake apparently went for the kill.
Looking at him, Jaune just deflated like a balloon. "Well Jaune, what weapon do you have?"
"Hehe, well, I have this sword! And this shield! It shrinks when I get tired of carrying it."
"Wouldn't it weight the same though?"
Jaune deflated again "Yeah."
Ruby lit up "Well I like them, people don't seem to appreciate the classics. Wait, aren't we supposed to be at the auditorium?"
"Does anyone know where that is? Is there like a directory or something?" Ruby just laughed but you didn't know what was funny about being late to an important speech.
Luckily Blake knew where to go. You were able to get there early and split off. Ruby went to find her sister, Blake just disappeared on you, and Jaune went to complain to himself about finding another girl to talk to.
You were on your own, so you decided to use your semblance to see what was around you. You got two pings. One in the crowded auditorium and one below the school. Two monsters were here, and you needed to find them.
You made your way through the crowd towards where the ping was. A blonde pale kid was where your trail ended. You snuck up behind him before putting him in a chokehold and pinning him to the ground.
When you got a good look at him, you knew him. "Alucard!?"
