Man today is full of weirdoes.
Currently:
"I couldn't help but hear your fondness over me last night." Jaune just did not let things go apparently.
While that whole conversation was happening, you continued conversing with Pyrrha. "So how have you been since I saw you last. Jeez when was it? Last year's Mistral tournament?"
She sighed, "Yeah just about. But I've been good, I became the mascot for Pumpkin Pete's so that happened."
Jaune then suddenly cut in, "You're THAT Pyrrha Nikos?!"
You got a little annoyed, "Jesus dude, can you calm down and stop cutting into everyone's conversations?" (If you couldn't tell you yelling "Jesus" in surprise and annoyance is gonna be a common thing.)
He lowered his head and got quiet, "Sorry."
You nodded, "Good, now yes, she's THAT Pyrrha Nikos."
Weiss grew a sly smirk, "Now do you see that you really don't belong in the same halls as us greats?"
Now it was your turn to snap at her, "Jesus, Weiss, leave the poor kid alone! He literally just got here, and sure, he's annoying sometimes, but that doesn't mean he's not great. Don't judge him off of one bad encounter." She seemed to be about to retort when you shut her down. "Before you say some crap about me doing the same thing, he's literally jumped into every conversation uninvited since yesterday when we met."
She shut up and just wallowed in her own self-entitlement for a bit. You turned to Jaune again, "Jaune I suggest you go grab your stuff and get ready for the exam." He nodded sadly and walked to his equipment.
You turned to Pyrrha and saw she gave you a disapproving look. "Bad Y/N, you can't treat your fellow peers like that."
You just chuckled, "Pyrrha, I could turn that on you and say to speak up when people are annoying you."
She thought for a sec before pouting and turning away. You gave her a quick hug from behind, "I missed you Pyrrha."
Then the loudspeaker came on, "Would all first-year students make their way to Beacon Cliff?!"
You let her go and turned to head to the Cliff, "Well, I'll see you later Pyrrha!" Due to you being turned in opposite directions you didn't see the small blush she had on her face.
(Time skip a few minutes to everyone arriving to Beacon Cliff)
Ozpin is up on his pedestal and decides to start the exam. "For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." He then gestures out to the forest.
Glynda then steps out from behind Ozpin, "Now I'm sure you've heard rumors about the formation of teams, and I'm here to say it is true."
You heard Ruby mumble something to herself. Glynda continued, "You will be given teammates, today"
Ozpin then took over, "The first person you make eye contact with, will be your partner for the next four years at this academy."
You could hear Nora, "I told you Ren!"
"Once you have a partner, head north. I have one word of advice for all of you. Do. Not. Hesitate. Destroy everything in your path. Otherwise, you will die." Jaune laughs a little behind you. Not the cheery kind either. "We will be monitoring you from here, so good luck."
With that sentiment, everyone began to be launched, 1 by 1. Someone was less enthusiastic to continue though.
Jaune raised his hand, "Uhh, sir?" Another student was launched, and Ozpin took a sip from his mug of Oum knows what. "Uhhhm what do you mean by die?"
Ozpin just gives an amused look, "What other meaning could it have?"
Jaune shivered, "Uhhhh, what can we expect in this forest?" He actually asked a good question this time.
More students launched off, and Ozpin answered his question, "Well, what else? Monsters. Hybrids, Purebloods, Grim."
Jaune was completely oblivious to everything around him. "And how are we getting down there?"
You watched as Alucard was launched off, giving you a two fingered salute with his sword resting in it's sheathe on his hip. You could hear Ozpin give an answer, "You will each have your own landing strategy."
Ruby was then launched but Jaune still didn't notice, "What exactly is a landing strategYYYYYYY-" Jaune was finally launched to the Emerald Forest.
You prepared yourself for launch since you were the last one to be launched. Ozpin spoke to you specifically before that though, "Belmont." You turned to him, "Make sure no one dies."
You nodded to him and were launched off the cliff.
While falling through the air, you could see the dots of everyone else. Gunshots were heard ahead of you, and you assumed this is how people were landing. You grabbed Vampire Killer and waited to breach the canopy.
The brush of the leaves and branches signified your descent, and you snapped your whip forward and watched as it wrapped around a thick branch. Grabbing on with both hands, you swung through the air, and dismounted from the tree.
You rolled once you hit the ground and sprung up onto your feet. Not seeing anyone or anything around you, you closed your eyes and focused your semblance. Throughout the entire forest, you could feel dozens of monsters although some of their presences are disappearing. Most likely the other initiates.
None were near you except for one that was closing in on you and fast. Your eyes snapped open, and you reached for the cross behind our back and threw it, seeing it be a light blue. It left a trail of ice behind it. Seeing Alucard come at you, you get worried, but he catches the cross.
"Damn Belmont, didn't think you were that cold." He then walked around the ice and handed you your cross back.
"Guess we're partners now."
He smiled, "I guess so."
