Author's Note: Sorry for not posting in so, so long! I'm actually doing very well so it's not anything to worry about :)! It's just school and my other stories taking up my time. Anyways, have fun with this super long dystopia AU story staring Kay Lee Ray and you as dystopia law enforcers. Enjoy!!
Splash. A pair of metal boots tread through a puddle as the ash-grey sky cried its chilly tears. The droplets of the liquid rolled down high-tech, matte-black armour.
Kay Lee sighed deeply as she trudged through the gloomy streets, the rain only added to the already dark atmosphere. She found the daily patrols monotonous and frankly boring as all hell but she knew it was completely necessary for the safety of the citizens. She gave her armoured fingers a flex and watched the red filaments glow from beneath the joints.
Kay Lee turned a corner onto another street, the neon signs flickered and hummed, they created a rather soft ambiance with their varying colours. Her hazel eyes blinked as she surveyed the street. Everything seemed normal until she heard a shout. Her head whipped towards the sound which came from a bar.
Kay Lee shoved her way through the crowd and laid eyes on a man who was brawling with the bar's owner, his fists flew at the owner's face. Kay Lee raised her hand to her head and activated her earpiece, but after a brief consideration decided she could handle a brawl on her own.
A man craned his head at Kay Lee eerily and tossed a chair at her before he lunged, his mouth was a firm line, his eyes blank, and he had no emotion etched on his face. Kay Lee scowled at the sudden hostility and readied herself and took a fighting stance.
She ducked a punch, sidestepped another swing with ease before she countered with a picture-perfect roundhouse. The man's head snapped back as he crashed into a table, wooden splinters flew everywhere and the bystanders all yelped in surprise and shielded themselves.
Kay Lee didn't wait for even a single second before she jumped on top of her fallen foe and detained him. She clipped a band onto each of the man's wrists and activated them. The man went motionless as his wrists snapped together. He said nothing to Kay Lee as he silently strained against the restraints.
"Don't bother, the attraction force generated by these cuffs to each other is so strong not even two men pulling together could make them budge. Now tell me, why did you do this?" Kay Lee said with authority.
There was no recognition in the man's eyes, he just kept struggling against the cuffs but his mouth opened, and he spoke for the first time.
"The plan is already in effect... The police can do nothing about it."
Kay Lee swallowed thickly as she realized something was horribly wrong. "Shit..." She activated her earpiece and called for backup. After doing that, she didn't hesitate and stomped down onto the man's face. Kay Lee watched it shatter into a million pieces of metal shrapnel and wires to the crowd's horror and gasps. There were a few hisses and electronic beeps before complete silence, the robot's camouflage deactivated and revealed its true form, that of a silvery, metallic body.
Kay Lee gritted her teeth in anger, "I knew something was weird with the bastard. A robot with programming designed for it to look like a human. But why? And who sent it here?" Kay Lee sent a glare that could threaten anyone into the crowd. "Does anyone know how the robot got in here? If so, speak up now."
The crowd collectively backed up and shook their heads. Murmurs of "I don't know" and "Not sure" could be heard throughout the dense sea of bodies.
Kay Lee heard the familiar whirring of a drone's rudder and turned her gaze skyward. There was a metallic figure which hung onto the drone which made the noise. This figure was someone Kay Lee knew very well and felt strangely attracted to.
