Author's Note: An imaginary/alternative scenario where Io drops her NXT women's belt to Dakota Kai on Aug 22nd 2020's championship match due to the underhanded tactic Kai and Raquel Gonzalez used. I was working in this one for a little while. Now, I'll have time to start the two most popular choices in the vote. Enjoy!!

Io barely had any time to react as a pair of arms snaked around her, lifting her high into the air. She could see the looks of anger, disbelief, and dissatisfaction on the faces of the spectators before she was brutally slammed into the ring.

Raquel had dropped her with so much force, Io swore that the ring almost caved in from the impact. She gasped for air, her ribs aching and felt as if they were like splintered wood, her face scuffed from Dakota's boot, while her left arm was numb from injury. She tried to get to her feet but was weighed down by her body's inability to cooerdinate itself. Raquel hauled Dakota onto Io before she dropped the half-conscious referee next to them.

The ref didn't see the blatant cheating and he began to count. Io struggled to lift her shoulder, her attempt feeble as Dakota Kai pinned her down.

The beams in the ceiling seemed to spin as she laid there, back pressed against the cold canvas as Dakota Kai's music played. She had lost and Io grit her teeth at this thought. She was humiliated, hurt, and utterly ashamed of the fact that she had lost to this cowardly cheater who hid behind her henchwoman.

Io rolled to her side after a few seconds more of self collection. She hissed in pain as she body protested against the movement. She could've passed out right there on the canvas if she didn't actively forbid herself from doing that. She pushed herself to her knees, then her feet.

Her eyes locked into Dakota and a scream of fury tore from her throat. "You-"

Io never got to finish as Raquel snagged her in a hold and promptly planted her to the canvas again. Io could see the two loom over her and Dakota was sneering. Io expected her enemy to rain down a flurry of blows and maybe a few cruel jests but nothing came.

"You lost, Io, and you're not taking to the skies anymore." That was all that Dakota said with a smirk.

Then, they left. Leaving Io battered on the canvas. The "Genius Of The Sky" averted her eyes from the crowd as she hustled away backstage. She made a direct trip to an isolated corner, slumped down, and for the first time in her WWE career, she began to cry. The self-pity and pain of it all finally tore Io down.

(y/n) stalked through the backstage corridors alone. He was always alone. He liked it that way. Being alone is simple and being alone means more time to reflect on the self. The entire division held reverence and fear toward him. His strong style wrestling wreaked havoc upon all those who stood in his way.

He smiled and adjusted the golden belt around his waist; there was a reason he was champion.

As (y/n) wandered the empty, backstage corridors, he heard a peculiar sound. Quiet sniffles and sobs echoed through the emptiness and he quickly located the source of the sound. (y/n) saw Io and he knew what had happened.

"You lost your title." He asserted simply. His statement blunt and unembellished as he punctuated it.

Io's face twisted in rage. "You bastard!" She lunged at (y/n), "You dare mock me?!"

(y/n) being much larger than the petite, high-flying Japanese star, he easily absorbed the impact of her body check.

"I was not mocking you." (y/n) shrugged, "You put those words in my mouth, not me."

Io braced her forehead against (y/n)'s chest while her fist beat on his shoulder in frustration. (y/n) felt the unmistakable sensation of tears soaking his shirt as Io stayed there, crying softly.

"I lost... now what? It's all over. My title is gone and she didn't even look at me as she took it away." Io's voice choked up. "She didn't even look at me once. She saw me as weak and I lost my belt to her."

(y/n)'s eyes narrowed. "And?" he asked, slightly angry at her defeated attitude. "You lost. You failed. You disappointed. So? You're gonna sit here and wallow in your grief, Io?"

"I-" Io paused, biting her lip gently. "I don't know."

"It's not over. You dropped the title, sk what? Life is tough, people cheat, things are unfair. You must deal with it. Hold your head up and beat her ass next time. There is no shame in losing, but there is much shame in quitting." (y/n) grasped her shoulders before wiping her tears away with the pad of his thumb. "And Io Shirai, the 'Genius Of The Sky', the 'Joshi Judas' is not a cowardly quitter, right?"

Io sniffed and slicked her hair back and stood up straight. "I'm no quitter."

"That's it." (y/n) clapped her back. "You are worthy of that title and you must fight for it now. Dakota and Raquel are but another obstacle for you to fly over. You will take to the skies and you'll soar once more."

Io looked at (y/n) and embraced him tightly. "Thank you."

"Of course, anytime." (y/n) smirked, "The genius made a small blunder but a genius will never be tied down by these blunders."
