Nya's POV

Lloyd ends up sweet-talking me into the dress he picked, and I was now seated in his front passenger seat as he turned into Wooldrove Close. I'd stuffed the clothes I'd originally picked into a carrier bag and dumped it in the backseat beforehand.

He whistles to himself as he sees the homes, "Damn, this is some next level rich people shit." I glanced out of the windows, and it was like driving into Beverly Hills. Villas and mansions galore! I could see over the high-security fences, into the freshly cut grass with gorgeous pools and gazebos, outdoor gyms...anything you could dream of, pretty much.

The car windows were shut, but even then we could hear the thumping music as we arrived closer to Jay's house.

Lights were on in every room, and cars were parked halfway down the drive. The gates and double doors were wide open and the party spilt out onto the front lawn. Damn; we weren't even halfway into the night and people were already wasted.

We head out of the car and up the littered pathway into the home, where we were instantly greeted by a very tipsy Jay, holding two red solo cups.

"Hola, mis amigos! Mi casa es tu casa!" He shoved the cups into our arms and waltzed off. Lloyd and I exchanged confused glances and burst out laughing immediately. Pressing a quick kiss on my cheek, he headed off to where a game of beer pong was set up, and several drunk teens, including my brother and Cole, were playing to win.

I was never really one to drink; sure I had some sips of beer here and there, but that was it. Never enough to get wasted, let alone tipsy.

The kitchen wasn't too crowded, so I managed to snag a seat, and occasionally checked my phone, my cup abandoned long ago.

A pair of arms wrapped around my waist, and I feel a pair of lips on my cheek. Seliel grins as she grabs the stool next to mine, "Wazzup, hoe?" She was definitely not sober, and a mark on her neck confirmed my suspicions.

Seliel was an odd character. She was on a long break with Cole, yet had some sort of on-and-off thing with my brother. And by my guesses, they were on-again, as I could see Kai wiping away red lipstick from his mouth.

Eugh. I love them both to death, but I don't particularly enjoy the idea of my brother macking it on and off with my best friend.

"Hey listen," Seliel gargled, setting down a shot glass as she gripped onto my shoulders, "Tonight. Me and you. We're gonna get super crazy wasted and get our mans tonight. Sound good?"

Not good at all. I wasn't really in the mode to take things that far quite yet.

Lloyd and I almost did it one night when he stayed over, but I quickly chickened out. Despite trying to charm me into it with sweet nothings, reassuring me over and over again that nothing bad would happen, I stuck to my decision. He got quite annoyed and didn't speak to me for the rest of the night.

The next day he pretended like nothing happened, and we never brought it up after that.

"Sounds like you've already accomplished step one of that plan," I admit sheepishly. The pink-haired girl narrowed her eyes, before snorting with laughter,

"Oh my gosh, you're so cute! No wonder Lloyd gushes about you so much!"

She takes me by surprise, pressing her lips to mine in an awkward drunken kiss, before stumbling off to "get her mans." I frown, wiping her lipstick off my mouth, my face scrunching up in disgust at the taste of bitter beer.

I want to get away from the party environment, with the thumping music and sweaty teens, so I find myself pushing through crowds of people, heading upstairs.

The first floor of the villa wasn't much help either, with the majority of the rooms occupied by people hooking up, I'm guessing? All of the other rooms were shut and locked.

All except one.

My feet seemed to have a mind of their own, as I find myself walking towards the bedroom, pushing the door open, revealing...a home library?

Just how rich was this guy?!

I enter the library, which was eerily quieter than the rest of the house, and a shiver runs up my spine.

My fingers trace the spines of the books, as I pick one out, aimlessly flicking through the pages in the darkness.

"Hey, you're the girl in my Mechanics class!"

I whip around to see a figure leaning against the bookshelves, his identity masked by the shadow of the darkened room. I could make out a mop of curly hair, and a pair of eyes.

The light switch is flicked on, and I jolt back, blinking quickly to adjust to the new lighting. Blue eyes focus on me, as I look to see Jay Gordon, slowly stepping towards me, "Yeah. It is you. You're the pretty girl in my class. Nya."

"What are you doing here, Jay?"

Jay raised an eyebrow, shrugging as he continued heading towards me, "I mean...I do live here. The real question is, what are you doing here?"

Now I shrugged, glancing around, "I got bored downstairs. Thought I'd explore a little."

Jay smirked at me, coming closer and closer. I found myself foolishly stepping away from him, knowing full well that there was nothing but a solid wall of books behind me.

Of course. This was his home. He knew this place like the back of his hand; he holds all the cards. I was the one at a disadvantage, not him.

I watched, stunned as Jay smoothly pulled the book out of my hands, placing it on the nearby shelf. His face was so close to mine. I could see the intense look in his eyes, his sharp jawline, every freckle dotted on his cheek.

"Well...I wouldn't quite mind getting explored by you," he murmured cooly, taking my wrists in his hands.

I stare up at him, horrified. What the heck?!

This isn't him. The Jay I knew was such a sweet person.

"Dude, you're drunk." I pushed him off me, but he simply pressed further, pinning me against the back wall.

He reached out, cupping my chin gently, his other hand on my waist, his thumb rubbing circles against the skimpy material of my dress. He leaned forward. His voice was now a low, husky whisper.

"I'm sure Lloyd wouldn't mind if I stole you away for the night." His warm breath, which was laced with the sickening smell of alcohol, fanned my face, as I harshly pushed him away.

"No!"

This time he stumbled over his own feet, landing on the carpeted floor. I step out past him and head to the door.

"I'll see you at school, Jay."
