"What are you doing here"? I asked Lucas, crossing the street from Layas bus stop
"Uhhh..I live here" Lucas smiled
"Since when" I crossed my arms
"I moved here last week" Lucas said. "Do you wanna go out for coffee"?
"No I don't want to go out for-....fine." I pouted

"So when do I get t see Laya again"? Lucas asked
"never, I hope"I said
"Does she know I'm her father" Lucas asked
"No". My eyes widned
"Why not'? Lucas asked
"Because Laya admires you, because she doesn't know you're her father. And I don't want that to change" I blurted
"Why would it" Lucas asked
"Because I told Laya that her father was a terrible person, a manwhore, and that he cheated on me, and that he wanted to hurt her''. I winced
Lucas laughed ''None of those are true....well expept for the terrible person part".
"Why do you think your a terrible person" I asked
"Because I left you" Lucas said
it was silent
then my phone rang. It was Lindsay's school
"Hello'? I said
"Hi is this Maya Hart" Someone said
"Yea" I said
"We are just notifying you that our school is currently on lockdown" They said
"Why"! I went into panic mode
"A man was spotted outside the school with a gun" They said
"Where's Laya"? I paniced
"Don't worry......she is in good hands" They said
I hung up
"We have to go" I grabbed his arm
"Why whats going on" Lucas asked
"Laya's in trouble" I paniced
I got into lucas's car "Drive to the school"!
"Maya what the hell is going on" Lucas started the car
'The schools on lockdown" I began to have an anxiety attack "There was a man spotted outside the school with a gun"
"Then why are we going to the school" Lucas asked "We could get shot".
"Yea but what about Laya"?!?! I couldn't breath
"Im sure they hid her somewhere" He said "Maya just breath".
"We have to atleast see'! I said

"What exactly are we looking for" Lucas asked as we sat in the school parking
"Uhhh I don't know maybe....a guy with a gun"!!! I said saracasticly
"Maya! Maya...he's right there"! Lucas pointed to a man in a black hoodie holding a gun
I opened the car door but Lucas immediatly shut it
"what the hell do you think your doing" Lucas's eyes widned
"Just follow my lead" I said
we exited the car and began hiding behind parked cars
My phone rang
"turn your phone off maya"! Lucas whispered
"I can't"! I said pressing every single button on my phone
I guy in the black hoodie noticed us and started running toward us
"MAYA! COME ON"! Lucas grabbed my arm and began to run
I heard multiple gun shots gut he failed to hit us
I turned around and seen a bullet coming straight towards me
The bullet barely missed me. My forhead begain to bleed from the dent
Then I heard one single gun shot. loudest of them all
The guy in the hoodie ran away
"Lucas we did it"! I smiled and turned to Lucas
He stared at the sky
"The sky looks so beautiful" Lucas said and turned to me
I seen a wound in his lower stomach
"LUCAS"!
He fell faintly to the ground. His eyes still open.
his eyes began to flutter
"No Lucas! Lucas don't you dare close your eyes" I screamed
his eyes shut
"LUCAS! LUCAS NO! LUCAS OPEN YOUR EYES!" I held him in my arms as I sobbed
The police showed up
then Laya showed up
and the rest was a blurr
