Song: Safe And Sound- Taylor Swift

"Run!" I scream, dashing through tree branches once again.

"I do not take orders from women! I am--"

Just behind us, the running of only Demetrius turns into an army of several, and as they grow closer, Demetrius' eyes meet mine again as he devilishly smirks.

"You know what? I don't think I want you to run. I want you to stay there and get your neck snapped," I spit, glaring intensely at Hunter. 'Sexist pig."

He gasps. "Hey! Who do you think you are speaking to me like--"

Their footsteps grow closer, slightly shaking the ground beneath us. A couple steps further, and they will be able to reach Hunter. He glances over his shoulder as his face pales. "Okay, yeah. I'll run."

Hunter eventually catches up to me as we dash through the woods, using every branch, root, or rock as an obstacle to create some distance between us and Bloodbound. They, however, use the trees to their advantage too, swinging from tree to tree as if they are reincarnations of Tarzan, and with every passing minute, they grow closer to us. The further we travel into the woods, the darker it gets, and at some point, I can barely see anything in front of me-- which then leads me to trip over a stump, a cry slipping past my lips as the ragged edge of the wood tears through my jeans and scrapes my knee. Just as I try to stand, someone behind me digs their nails into my ankle and begins dragging me backwards. I thrash in their hold, using all of my strength to try to kick out of their grip, but they're strong and their hold only tightens as they drag me toward them. I glance behind me to catch sight of their glowing yellow eyes, and they hiss through their fangs before reaching toward my chest.

Then, in the next instant, Hunter, his icy blue aura glowing around him, lands on their shoulders and twists their neck with all his force. Their hands leave my ankle as they collapse to the ground. Hunter scoops me up and throws me over his shoulder before running harder as Bloodbound grows closer.

"Try to pay attention next time, yeah?"

I roll my eyes as I squirm on his shoulders. "You can put me down now. I'm perfectly capable of moving on my own."

"Yeah, I see how well that worked out," He chuckles, ducking under another tree branch. "You were almost that guy's dinner."

My cheeks flush in embarrassment, and it's a good thing he can't see it. "Please. I was just stalling so I could catch him off guard."

I can practically feel the smirk on his lips. "Right."

"There's no point in running, you two," Demetrius bellows from behind us, and I glance up to meet his neon green eyes, which sends chills down my spine as I realize how close he is. "Your fate is already sealed, Alaska."

"Ignore him. He's trying to get a rise out of you," Hunter growls as if he knows the way Demetrius' words affects me.

Our efforts in escaping them come up short though, and when Demetrius grabs my hair with all his force and manages to pull me away from Hunter's grip, I figure it's close to the end for me. I know what Demetrius wants, and now, it doesn't matter to him if he kills me in front of my parents or not. I'm pretty sure he'll be satisfied either way, whether it's in front of them or by sending my head to them on a platter. He just wants me dead. It is plain and simple.

He harshly pulls my face toward his by the roots of my hair, sending white hot pain throughout the entirety of my scalp. I wail out, tears filling my eyes as I glare intensely at him who smirks sinisterly at me, his fangs on full display as his hot breath fans against my face.
