My phone rang and of course, it was someone from school who thinks I'm their friend asking me why I didn't come to church. Or social hour, I prefer to call it.

"Hello?" I said.

"Are you coming to church?" Gabe said on the other end of the line. Gabe is a preppy guy in my class. Someone who I'd love to push off a cliff.

"I don't know. Probably not."

"No, you have to come!"

"I don't want to."

"Come on, you might as well stop avoiding us now, since you'll have to see us at school tomorrow."

"Ok, fine, I'll come." I said, even though I'm not. I just said that to get him to leave me alone.

"K." He said before hanging up.

I shut my phone off, so I wouldn't be annoyed by the calls I'm going to get when he realizes I lied.

About thirty minutes later, I heard the door bell ring and I knew it was Gabe. I knew he would call, but I didn't think he would come to my house.

I ran out of my room and down the hall.

"Don't answer it!" I yelled at my dad. I wasn't quick enough because when I got there, he was already opening the door.

"Shit," I muttered.

"Why? It's your friends." He said.

"No!" I said. "Shut the door!"

"I can't just shut the door on them." He said.

"Yeah, Tyler." Gabe said, walking in the door with two other guys that I recognize from school, but don't know the names of.

I groaned. "Just, leave."

"Why didn't you come to church?" Gabe asked.

"You said you would." One of the other douches said.

My dad stood to the side like a notch on a log.

"I didn't want to and you wouldn't leave me alone." I said. "It's church, why would I want to come? I'm not even Christian."

They didn't say anything else before leaving, giving me death glares their entire trip out the door.

My dad gave me a concerned. "Tyler, what was that about?"

"I don't like them." I said.

"Come on, don't be so antisocial."

"I hate people, you know that." I said, before going back to my room.

I walked into the front doors of my tiny school and prepared myself to be asked questions.

Of course, that's exactly what happened.

"Where were you all weekend?" Matty asked.

Matty is a nothing but a cheap thinker. He doesn't think when he says things and he doesn't consider anyone but himself.

"Out of town." I said.

He didn't get the chance to ask anymore questions before I walked off towards my locker.

I don't understand why the people at this school are so annoying, but they are. I can't say or do anything without someone butting into my life.

The only person at this school I don't want to punch in the face is Michael. And even he gets annoying at times, but in a funny way. He doesn't hover over me and want to get in my head like other people.
