"Feurety."

"Feur. Come with me."

"I'll love you now until forever. In this life and the next. Even if you don't remember me, I'll make you fall for me again and again. That is my vow to you. That is my vow as your friend. As your life partner. As your husband."

"Mama, you're home! We missed you so much!"

When Feurety awoke, it was without a sound. Emerald orbs opening to stare blankly at the woodwork of the ceilings as the noise of the tavern rang in her ears. She could hear the clattering of pots and pans, Ban cooking breakfast for their group as Meliodas teased Elizabeth and Diane huffed jealously with her face against the window. A few days had passed since Ban was rescued, the group falling into a routine as they traveled towards the Necropolis in the hopes of finding news on King.

Feurety felt nothing. She could only feel numb as she turned on her side and curled into a fetal position, hands clutched to her chest as though she could physically remove the ache that took root in her heart.

Feurety felt nothing. And yet, she also felt everything.

As much as she wanted to stay in bed all day, the reincarnated princess knew that wasn't possible and sat up with a deep sigh. Feurety got dressed, throwing on a simple white dress that Ban had stolen for her, and leaving her feet bare as they lightly treaded across the wood floor. She left her hair down, the long crimson tresses framing her face as she padded down to the bar and Meliodas looked up with a wide smile at the sight of her.

"Hey, Feur!"

Feurety looked at him, the blonde immediately losing his smile as he saw the lifeless look in her dull green eyes. Meliodas straightened, moving to stand besides her as she sat down at the bar. "Feurety. What is it?" He breathed lowly, but his best friend only shook her head as she stared down at the wooden bar. "Nothing." She said simply, tilting her head slightly as Elizabeth sat down at her other side. "Good morning, Flor! You slept in today." The princess greeted, and at Feurety's tight smile, Elizabeth's dimmed a bit. "Is today..." She trailed off, humming in understanding as her sister gave her a curt nod. Meliodas looked between them before realization struck him, a sad smile painting his face as he looked down at Feurety. The crimson-haired girl refused to lock eyes with either one, playing with her hands in her lap as Ban walked forward from the kitchens with Hawk.
