Recap
Hitoshi thought it would be a simple year. He thought he could ignore the bullying, get through the year and try for UA Hero Course. He hadn't planned on making friends, but as he disabled his quirk on this broccoli boy before him and told him about his quirk, he hadn't expected the words that came out of this boy's mouth. "But you can do so much more!" The broccoli boy interrupted. "You could help people get over fears, calm panic attacks, you would be incredible in hostage situations, you could make me sleep-" huh? "Shinsou... you're quirk is AMAZING!" What? Did he just say it was...amazing? Suddenly Hitoshi's world was wider, his view was brighter and the boy who sat across from him, hands now on the table, emerald eyes bright, mouth open in a huge smile, suddenly became the most beautiful person he's ever seen.
_________________________________________________________________Hitoshi was now red faced, eyes wide, focused solely on the green bush in front of him. He didn't know what had changed. A moment ago he was calm and steady, now his heart was shouting "DOKI DOKI" and he felt the earth was shaking. It only worsened as he continued to study Izuku. He studied the bush like hair that bounced around. He studied the way his animated, yet eyebag-layered eyes light up when shone at by the afternoon sun. He studied the way Izuku rambled on about his quirk, and studied said lips that were rambling. The green bush's lips were flushed pink, contrast to the green colour palette he had. His lips were like a single berry in the bush, he wanted to touch his lips.........with his own. Wait what?
Here was a person that actually liked his quirk, that didn't think it was villainous, that he wasn't villainous... it couldn't be true, could it?
"Do you really think it's amazing?", Hitoshi said with uncertainty, "everyone's always told me that it was a villains quirk, truth is, I've always wanted to be a hero".
"And you can be!" Izuku shouts, "Don't listen to what others tell you, you be what you want to be, no one is born a villain. I believe you can be a hero." That last sentence replays in Hitoshi's head again and again. 'I believe you can be a hero' Hitoshi thinks it over, trying to process the statement. No one has ever told him that before. He didn't know if the boy in front of him even knew how much those words meant to him, but they meant the world. Tears sprung to his eyes and fell, Izuku let him cry his emotions out. After that the two boys continued to talk. They bonded over topics like heroes and novels and eventually found some things in common such as their love for cats and them both being coffee adicts. They ended up exchanging numbers and laughing at cat memes together.
"Do you plan on going to UA, Shinsou kun?" Izuku asked the boy in front of him. They had just finished watching a Funny Cats YouTube video and after some giggles and laughs, Izuku decided to gather some more information about the other boy."Uh, yeah.. but I don't think I'll get into the hero course, the entrance exam is very practical and my quirk.. isn't" Hitoshi replies. "I can help you! My quirk isn't very practical either, but I have my dad training me in combat; he's a pro hero at UA." Izuku had thought about this earlier, he had already decided that he was going to help this lavender boy become a hero. They had both experienced similar discrimination, and Izuku felt an affinity with Hitoshi. "Really? I don't know... I'm a lost cause, you'll only be wasting your time." Hitoshi says meekly. "Nonsense! Shinsou kun, your quirk has so much potential for hero work and I'm sure my dad would agree, trust me." Izuku exclaims. "Alright... thank you."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
