It was 7.30 in the morning. The early birds chirped their tunes as the sun shone upon a black, yellow and white sheet covered bed, filling the also black, yellow and white themed room with beautiful morning sunlight. Yes, this was an Eraserhead themed bedroom. Yes, this was Aizawa Izuku's. No, he was not in here, instead, Izuku was on a morning jog, though technically late night jog as he had started this jog at 11.00pm last night. You see, Izuku's quirk makes it so he can never pass out, be knocked out, and never sleep. He gets tired but not sleepy. At first his quirk was a nuisance, and to be honest, it still is. Though, overtime Izuku learned how he could use his lack of sleep to his advantage.
Izuku huffed and puffed as he made it to his first day at his new school. No, he was not starting junior high or senior high like the start of every anime ever, this was his last year of junior high. Shouta had transfered him to a new school once he had found out about Bakugou's bullying, Izuku was only mildly thankful as he knew this school would have bullies too, after all every school does.
Izuku walked in through the front entrance, this school didn't look too different from his last, just a little newer. He strolled through the hallways, searching for some kind of changing room or bathroom anywhere. You see, Izuku had a routine of spending the night either studying or jogging. When Izuku chose jogging, he would go out late at night and wouldn't bother coming home in the morning, instead he just jogged to school. Shouta wasn't home in the mornings anyway, he always left early for UA, so what was the point? Izuku would normally just pack breakfast and lunch in his bag, and bring his uniform along too.It was now 8.00am, he was changed and now an hour early. He usually didn't come to school early, as to avoid Bakugou and his lackeys, though today was different, as Bakugou was no longer in the same school and Izuku wanted to scout out this new school and get to know the layout. He did just that. He found small nooks and crannys that he could hide his petite but muscular body in, if he ever needed to hide. He found where the nurses office was for future reference. He found the cafeteria and took note to avoid that direction and he found his classroom by a small sign above the door that said "3A". By now it was 8.55am and everyone had already been seated, waiting for class to start. He looked around and cringed when there was only one seat left next to a lavender haired boy, staring out the window. Izuku was hoping he didn't have to socialize this year. " Aizawa Izuku, correct?" the female teacher called from the front of the room, opposite to where he was standing. "Yes, that's me." Izuku responded nervously as everyone's eyes were now upon him. "I am Ms. Kimi and you may sit next to Shinsou Hitoshi" said Ms. Kimi. What didn't go unnoticed by Izuku were the whispers that started once "Shinsou Hitoshi" was mentioned. He heard nasty things like "villain" and "creepy" along with some other incredibly hurtful comments. He looked at the boy with pity as he approached him, but said boy was still faced towards the window despite the comments that were shared across the class. Those comments were only silenced when Ms. Kimi berated them.
Izuku sat down in his chair. He decided he would try not to be socially awkward and start an actual conversation for once in his life. "Hey-" "Don't talk to me" the lavender haired boy interrupted. Well that was rude. Fine then, didn't wanna be a social butterfly this year either.♡
Class flew by and it was the end of the school day now. Izuku hadn't spoken a word to lavender boy since. He was now at the front entrance, but decided he would head to the cat cafe not too far from the school, so he headed to the back gate. Izuku was nearly there but as he turned the corner, he paused. A few metres forward were where three guys from his class stood, guys whose names he hadn't bothered to remember. They had their backs to Izuku, facing a boy on the floor, covered in dirt and bruises...a boy with lavender hair.
"What, aren't you gonna fight back with that villainous quirk of yours? Pathetic." the boy on the left laughed. "Why don't you just kill yoursel-" *WHACK* What? What happened? It took a few moments before Izuku realised that the boy had been knocked out, and was now on the floor. It took a few more moments for Izuku to realise that he was the one who knocked him out. The boy's words hurt a nerve in Izuku, all too familiar with the phrase.
The two other boys looked behind with nervous confusion. Behind them revealed Izuku, now snapped out of his daze, one hand in his pocket, the other still up from hitting the boys pressure point. "Geez so stiff, you'd be terrible at yoga." Izuku commented in a non-chalant manner before glaring at the two other terrified boys, the two frantically scrambled away screaming inaudible cries of mercy. Izuku glanced back down at Shinsou analysing his bruises "Are you okay?" he bent down and offered his hand. This action caused Izuku to cringe internally as felt a sense of De Ja Vu, though unlike how Bakugou had once reacted, yelling and slapping his hand away, Shinsou reached up and clasped his surprisingly soft hands around Izuku's. "Thanks..." The lavender Boy softly replied as Izuku lifted him up. Shinsou dusted off his clothes gently and after a moment of studying the boy passed out on the floor, Shinsou questioned, "what did you do to him?". " Oh, I just hit his pressure point by the nape of his neck, he'll be fine." Izuku explained while grabbing his duffle bag that he had left on the floor. "Well, see ya" Izuku waved as he walked through the back gate and headed towards the cat cafe, slightly noticing how Shinsou started walking in the same direction.
A few minutes pass and they're still walking in the same direction, Izuku started to sweat in the awkward tension surrounding them. Luckily he spotted the small cat sign signally he arrived at his destination, what he wasn't expecting was for Shinsou to stop as he too arrived at the entrance. "Uhhh... are you following me?" Izuku awkwardly asks as he turns to face lavender boy. "No, this is where I usually come after school to study." Shinsou replies in exasperation. "Oh, uh, okay." Izuku fumbles a bit as he opens the door. As he looks around the cafe, he's disappointed to see all the booths were full except for one. That means they needed to share. Izuku sighs as he sits at the booth, and after Shinsou realises the situation as well, he does the same. A long moment of silence passes before Izuku finally finds the courage to speak up, "um... so.. why where those guys calling you a villain just then, you don't seem like a villain to me?" Izuku didn't want to pry... but he really did. With having a father as a pro hero, Izuku has seen a lot of villains in his lifetime and he's seen a lot worse than just some junior high kid with eye bags that weren't nearly as bad as his own. "Why do you care?" The lavender boy seated across from him questioned harshly. "Because I-"
Darkness. Silence. Peace. All of a sudden Izuku was hit with a wave of emotions as he was transported into a void in which he'd only experienced before he turned the age of 4. The darkness, it was safe. The silence, it was soothing. The peace, it was calm. It was like he was asleep, in a deeper slumber than he could've ever slept before his quirk manifested. He had forgotten the feeling and now that he felt it once again, he was overwhelmed.Suddenly the feeling came to a halt, his mind cleared and as he looked left and right, he realized he was still in the cat cafe across fro- "Are you scared now?" what? "My quirk is brainwashing-" brainwashing? That's what that was? His quirk? "-When someone answers a question I ask, I can brainwash them to do anything. I can make them say anything, I can make them hurt others, I could make them hurt themselves, I could make them kill-" "But you can do so much more!" Izuku interrupted. "You could help people get over fears, calm panic attacks, you would be incredible in hostage situations, you could make me sleep-" wait... he could make me sleep! "Shinsou... you're quirk is AMAZING!"
♡
Hitoshi thought it would be a simple year. He thought he could ignore the bullying, get through the year and try for UA Hero Course. He hadn't planned on making friends, but as he disabled his quirk on this broccoli boy before him and told him about his quirk, he hadn't expected the words that came out of this boy's mouth. "But you can do so much more!" The broccoli boy interrupted. "You could help people get over fears, calm panic attacks, you would be incredible in hostage situations, you could make me sleep-" huh? "Shinsou... you're quirk is AMAZING!" What? Did he just say it was...amazing? Suddenly Hitoshi's world was wider, his view was brighter and the boy who sat across from him, hands now on the table, emerald eyes bright, mouth open in a huge smile, suddenly became the most beautiful person he's ever seen.
