Izuku's pov
Izuku hates to admit it but.. he actually has a lot in common with the lavender boy. They both share similar interests such as cats, coffee, heroes and have the same taste in music. While this seems to be a lot in common, it's not hard for two teenage boys to both like these types things.
No, what was surprising was just how much Hitoshi reminded Izuku of himself; it was like looking into a mirror.
Big floofy purple hair to match his own green and under-eye bags indicating lack of sleep (although Izuku was definitely winning in the lost sleep department). He wondered if together they would be a matcha and lavender crepe or cake?
What's more is that they both have mental quirks, which are quite rare so not much studies have been done on them. To be candid, Izuku found Hitoshi interesting... no, to be completely honest he was fully immersed in him.
Hitoshi's pov
"Say, Shinsou, what's the reason you wanted to be a hero in the first place? Hitoshi looked up from his plate. It's been about 3 hours since they first got to the cafe, during that time they've both ordered 3 desserts each, one after another. Hitoshi suspects the other did it to continue the conversation and have an excuse to stay.. and he would be lying if he said he didn't do the same.
"Why do I want to be a hero?" "Yeah, like I get that basically every child grows up wanting to be a cool, flashy hero.. but what's your story?", Izuku questions. His reason to be a hero.... well "I wanted to prove everyone wrong." Hitoshi gently set his fork down left to the crepe cake, this was gonna be a tough topic to talk about.
He looked to Izuku, "they always said I was gonna grow to be a villain." "Who did?" "Everyone. My classmates, my teachers, neighbours, family friends, the fucking class pet hamster.. well not my parents at least, I guess I was lucky there. My parents are great and have tried to protect and be as supportive as they can but even then, everyone else in my life looked down on me... they all said that I could never be a hero. So, I decided to prove them wrong."
Yes, that's the drive for his goal, his motive to achieve greatness. He wanted to prove to them that he could be a hero and make them regret what they put him through, after all he can't forget the pain he went through all his life.. but he can turn it all around.
"Wait did the hamster actually tell you that?" What? Hitoshi cocked his head to one side, thoroughly confused. He looked on at Izuku about to question him but he suddenly looked as if he was in his own world, talking..mumbling to himself.
"I mean you said so right? So if it did, did it tell you that through speech? Could it talk, no, how would a hamster talk- unless it's a hamster with a quirk! Like principle Nezu of UA? Hm interesting.. wait no what if it was just a hyperbole-" "pfft" Izuku looked up.
"HAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHA" "I- OH Shinsou!! I'm so sorry it's just that I have this small habit of mumbling my thoughts out loud and I didn't mean to interrupt like that I was just curious and I wasn't sure if you were really telling the truth about the hamster because- well you just never know these days! And-" "Midoriya!" "OH SORRY" "It's okay", Hitoshi said with a soft smile. "Well... I think it's really admirable of you to do that" said Izuku,
"Do what?" "You know, go against your haters and pursue what you want!" Izuku beamed.Oh, he'd completely forgotten about what they'd just been talking about because he'd gotten so distracted by the big broccoli dork. It was kinda nice,, being distracted from his problems.
"I think you're really cool Shinsou" Izuku's voice was warm as he spoke, Hitoshi was focused on the vibrations Izuku's throat made as he talked. He stared on and on and on into his evening sunlit freckles and gentle blush, he looked at the long lashes that fluttered and thought that he...
SHOULD REALLY STOP STARING LIKE A WEIRDO AND ACTUALLY RESPOND. "I- um- yes I- uhh.." "ahem" a waitress cleared her voice from beside the table, when did she get there?
"Sorry to disturb you two but we close in 2 minutes and I need to clear your dishes and bill you." She spoke hurriedly. "Oh for sure! Sorry, here" Izuku hands her cash, "I'll pay for us both." "Wait what? Nono I can pay for my half" "No! It's okay it'll take too long" Izuku turns to the waitress, "We'll get out of your hair, thank you!" He grabs Hitoshi's hand and dragged him from his seat disturbing the cat on his lap and out the door.
The cool evening air hits both their faces and it dawns on them how much time they spent together inside the cafe. Hitoshi looks to the setting sun and the chittering birds above and feels a bit disappointed that the day is coming to an end.
"Uh, you can let go of my hand now" huh? Hitoshi looks down and sure enough, he's still clutching Izuku's hand, finger's intertwined and all. He quickly retracts his hand to his uniform pocket, flustered. "Sorry, so uh I guess we've been kicked out of the cafe huh?" Hitoshi says glumly. "Yeah.." Izuku looks up at him, "hey, why don't you come over to mine? There's still a ton of things I wanna talk about with you and I don't think I can wait until tomorrow, you can meet my dad too and sleep over, oh uh unless you don't want to! That's totally fine I'll just go home by myself, I'm sure you've got much better things to do with your time and I-" "Okay" "What?"
"I said okay, let's go to yours, I've got more to talk about with you too and I don't think I can wait till tomorrow either" Hitoshi said with flushed cheeks and a smile.
"Oh.. great!!! Let's go then." Broccoli boy smiled back.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
