I smile at him and watch as he goes on and on about I have no idea what, I've been zoning in and out of the conversation.

"Wait, Ethan, why are you here? As in the city?" I ask, not to be rude, but I'm curious.

He laughs and runs his fingers through his dark brown hair and stares at me with his deep brown eyes. "I go to school near here. Actually the same uni as Reagan," he nods and I don't like how he keeps talking and bringing up Reagan.

"Oh, cool," I didn't care really. I do still care about Reagan and if anything bad ever happens to her I'd hate it, but I wouldn't admit that to anyone.

"She told me that you we're a backstabbing bitch and that's why the friendship ended. Then she told me to stay away from you, but obviously I've ignored that." He laughs and sinks deeper into my leather couch.

I laugh dryly. "She said that about me, wow, okay." I know we aren't friends anymore for multiple reasons, but for her to say the reason we aren't is because of me is uncalled for.

"She misses you though," Ethan says softly.

I look at him not believing that. "Ah yes, just like I miss her promises," my tone was sarcastic, because I didn't miss the stupid promises.

"They weren't all that bad," he tries to reason with me.

I laugh because most of them were irrational. "C'mon, remember when she made me promise to give Michael a chance?" I know Ethan would remember because he was there for that week. He left after that, but he still saw how the whole Michael and I thing did not unfold in the most pleasant way. Simply, Michael and I did not work.

Ethan threw his head back and laughed because he enjoyed watching the whole promise blow up in Reagan's face.

I smile because it kind of was funny... for a while anyways.

~ Flash Back ~

We all sat in Ashton's and Michael's house. I sat in my chair, the one I always sat in when I was at their house, it was as if I claimed the chair. Since now everyone called it 'Jen's chair' and no one else really sat in it.

"Can we do something, we've been sitting here for hours not doing shit," Reagan whined. I'm sure we were all bored out of our minds, but none of us really wanted to go out into the heat and die.

"I'm not leaving this place," Ashton stated and to prove his point he tried to sink deeper into the old couch and folded his arms over his chest.

Reagan rolled her eyes in response and looked around the room. "Anyone want to go out with me? Guys, let just go get ice cream or something," she sighed, probably annoyed with how aggravating we were all being.

Luke shrugged and ran his fingers through his blond mess, he didn't bother to style it today. "I don't know Re, it's so hot outside the ice cream would melt in seconds." He was, of course, exaggerating but it's how we all felt - except Reagan.

"I'll go with you Re," Ethan spoke up. He was dragged here against his will, because Reagan said he had to come. You could tell he would rather be somewhere else, even if he did get along well with everyone.

Reagan smiled proud and jumped out of her seat. "Aw okay, well I guess it's just the two of us," not one ounce of her tone seemed disappointed by that.

"You know what, I'll come too," Luke mumbled and got to his feet. I chuckled under my breath and so did the other boys because we all knew Luke was going because he didn't want Reagan to be alone with Ethan. Luke was very protective over her in that way.
