Is it worth it?

Meeting her

As you're walking down the road, you notice two squirrels fighting over a piece of trash. Yep, this is New York. This is the typical shit you see. You look down for a second at the papers you're going to throw away when you got home. Old high school essays that you must have accidentally put in your bag for work.

You weren't paying attention and a woman bumped into you causing you to drop all your papers. They fly away. Oh well, you were gonna throw them away anyways.

She looks up to you. "Oh my god! I am so sorry. I must've not seen you, I swear I'm blind as a bat." She says ending the sentence with a laugh.

You look at her mesmerized. Then reality hits you and you realize you need to respond "Oh! No worries these papers were worthless. I was just going to throw them away when I got home anyways."

She looks relieved. "Well good. I wouldn't want to ruin anything for you." She says with a smirk.

Your cheeks turn red. "Thank you. Oh, I'm y/n btw."

"Well hello, y/n, I'm Cate and I am still terribly sorry. Do you mind letting me take you to dinner tomorrow.. to make up for bumping into you."

You bite your lip trying to decide what to say. "Sure, I would love that,"

"Great! I can pick you up at 7 tomorrow if that works for you?" Her eyes were stern and comforting. You nod as a confirmation letting her know the answer is yes.

"Do you mind telling me the address?" She asked.

"Oh, yes I'm sorry." You reply and tell her the address. She waves at you and you both say your goodbyes. You watch her walk away and admire the woman you just met. She was beautifully aged. Her lips were painted a light red with some sort of lipstick. As she fades away in the distance you turn around and continue your walk home.

This was the first chapter i wrote of this story! The chapters do get longer and the writing gets better as well! I had never wrote before so it's a little sloppy. Please as you read this story leave feedback or comment your reactions i love to read them and reply!
