ALYA POV

"So what do you wanna do today?" My elbows were propped up against our marble counters.

My heated mug filled with coffee was bringing up steam to my face, washing a warmth temperature over me.

Marinette sat at the table across from the island I was at with a plate of unfinished eggs and a half-full glass of iced coffee in front of her.

"Maybe you can show me around that little town your mom mentioned on the way?" Marinette asks sipping on her drink.

I think for a moment where we could go. Nothing comes to mind until I notice a painting of a green plant that my mom painted a while back.

"Greenhouse Café," I mutter.

"I love cafés!" she responds with a grin.

I put my coffee cup on the table and sit in the chair next to her. She smiles at me, scooping a fork full of eggs into her mouth.

A whiff of a gentle peach scent fills my nose, and the area around her.

She always smells so good.

Marinettes hair was laying on her shoulders, gentle and wavy. She wore a green tank top with a brown pair of jean like pants, and converse.

"Ready to go?" I ask, hoping off my chair.

"Ready when you are," she winks.

Turning the steering wheel, the car travels down the bumpy road, following the line of traffic.

About 6 minutes later, we pull up in front of
a small building, crunched against some other ones.

The sign reads "Greenhouse Café".

When I was little, my grandparents used to take me here for my birthdays.

I'm not sure, but I think this cafe was owned by a few people they knew. The owners would bring me a small piece of green mocha cake that I always loved.

But ever since my grandpa passed, I haven't seen my grandma, and haven't been to this little cafe since I was 12.

"Wow! This place is so cute!" Marinette looked around the cafe, walking through the tables with people sitting on them. I took a whiff of the place. It still smells exactly like fresh bread and tea.

After we order our drinks and little sandwiches, we chose a table and sit down.

"I haven't been here in ages," I say, slowly looking around the familiar place.

My eyes meet with Marinettes. Her cheeks were puffy due to her eating a sandwich she ordered.

"Last time I came was with my grandparents," I sigh out of the memory of them. I notice Marinette slowed down her chewing, giving me an expression of sadness.

I clear my throat, trying to brush off the fact that it hurts to think about them.

"You've barely touched your sandwich!" The girl points at my sandwich with a chunk of her own on the left side of her cheek.

"Yeah, I'm not really hungry." I give a half-smile and she gives the same.

We sat in silence admiring the cafe.

Her eyes followed the vines and the paintings, as her head followed with them.

She looks so damn cute.
