LMAO SORRY ITS BEEN FOREVER! HERE, I FINISHED THE CHAPTER

HOLY SHIT THIS BOOK GOT A TON OF READS

———

It had been almost a week since Darryl had asked Skeppy to stay with him. Things had been going fine, nothing out of the usual.

Zak was asleep on the couch while bad made breakfast and fed rat, he didn't want to wake Zak so he just let him sleep until the food was done.

As Darryl flipped the pancake he was cooking, his phone went off. When he went to go check it, the phone went off again.

Chris-
9:00 am

Hey! We haven't talked in ages but I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today?
Maybe get lunch?

-Darryl
9:03

Oh hi!! Yeah! I'm not super busy right now
Where do you want to meet?

Chris-
9:03

We should meet at the park? 20 minutes?

Darryl-
9:04

Oh I'm actually making breakfast for Zak right now 0-0
He's the short one you met at the game! ^^

Chris-
9:06

Oh yea I remember him. He should come too if he wants :P

Darryl smiled warmly and put the pancake on a plate. He went over to wake up Zak to find that he was already awake.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked, handing Zak the plate. The shorter male smiled and silently thanked him.

"I slept pretty good. Couches are uncomfortable as hell though" he earned a laugh from Darryl.

"Like I've said, you can take my bed. It's not a big deal, I've never hated sleeping on couches anyway." He said, getting no response. He smiled slightly before sitting next to Zak. They ate in silence for a short while, just thinking and enjoying each other's company.

"And what if I wanted to sleep with you?" Zak finally said, nudging Darryl slightly with a shit eating grin plastered across his face.

To this, Darryl rolled his eyes and continued to stay silent. He was used to this behavior but every time he gets flustered and nervous. He cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Um, I-I don't know if you remember but there's a guy I met at one of our games and he texted me a few minutes ago. He asked if we wanted to go hang out with him at the park maybe?" He was stammering and stumbling over his words as he spoke.

Zak paused briefly. He thought for a while before shaking his head.

"I know who you're talking about and the answer is no. I don't wanna third wheel on a dumb 'hang out' I probably wasn't even initially invited to." He was exactly right about not being invited at first but Darryl was surprised at this sudden negative attitude towards his friend.

"You wouldn't be third wheeling. It's just hanging out" he said, setting his plate down on the side table.

"Yeah, sure." The smaller male got up and took his and darryls plates to the sink.

He stood up and followed Zak, crossing his arms.

"Why are you upset all of the sudden?"

The other scoffed and rolled his eyes, continuing to stay silent. He went over to his Pc and put on his headphones, in attempt to ignore Darryl further.

"The silent treatment? Really Zak?" Again, there was no response.

Finally, Darryl got sick of it and gave up. He picked up his wallet and keys before opening the door.

"Wait, where are you going?" Zak asked, all of the sudden he was very interested in what Darryl had already told him four times.

"I'm gonna go see Chris. I'll see you later." There was little to no emotion in his voice and the room fell silent as Darryl left to start the car.

Zak stood in the livingroom, he was upset with Darryl. Though, in the end he was upset with himself for angering him. Why did Chris have to be such a douchebag?

9:45

Chris and Darryl were having a really good time together. The taller male had finally stopped thinking about Zak and decided to just enjoy his time with a new friend.

At home, Zak was miserable of course. He was cold, lonely and he just wanted to apologize to Darryl.

"Hey, darry? Can I ask you something?" Chris asked, he was smiling slightly though his eyes showed a bit of impatience for some reason.

"Yeah?" Chris looked ahead of them, avoiding eye contact.

"Are you and Zak a thing?" He asked, after a long pause.

Darryl was silent for a minute. His thoughts were finally brought back to Zak and all he felt was guilt. Though, despite of this he laughed and shook his head.

"No, no. We're just friends" he said, also avoiding any sort of eye contact.

"Ah. Good to know" Chris smiled. Darryl was naive but he wasn't stupid. He could tell Chris liked him but sadly the other already had eyes for someone else.

"Speaking of, I should probably head home. I don't want Zak burning down the house" Darryl stood up and gathered his things.

"Alright! I gotta go too. I'll see you later though, this was really fun" Chris took darryls hand and squeezed it as a sign of affection. The taller male was indifferent about physical affection for the most part, but he didn't like that at all.

And finally, he made his way home.

Taking out his house key, Darryl slowly opened the door. It was almost 11am so Darryl excepted his mom and Zak to already have started their day.

But when he entered the house, no one was there.

What?

He stood quietly for a minute and looked around. "Hello?" He called out a couple times. This was when he noticed his moms car was gone.

Now worried, he pulled out his phone and called Zak a few times, being sent immediately to voicemail.

What the hell happened.
