Registration went fine. It was kind of awkward between Alex and I, but I'm Hannah Williams. I make everything awkward. It's who I am.
As we were heading to the car we were going home in, obviously, I heard an all too familiar, deep voice call out from behind us.
"Williams!" The deep voice called.
"Run. Now!" I whispered to Katy as I picked up my pace.
"Williams!" The voice was much closer than before.
"Hurry!" Katy yelled as she looked back and saw that I was behind.
"Ha! You thought you could get away, didn't you?" The boy said as he grabbed my waist and started to suffocate me.
"Braden please let me go!" I managed to choke out.
"Not a chance sweet cakes. You're gonna pay for what you did last year!" He was still suffocating me. He smelt like a mixture of pine wood and vodka.
"Are you still stuck on that stupid little thing?" I said while struggling to get out of his grasp.
"Ha, little thing? It wasn't just a little thing." He said and tightened his grip around my stomach. When he did that, I let out a gasp of air.
"Hey! Let go of her!" Katy screamed as she struggled to free me.
"Al-ex" I struggled to get out. He was looking at his phone with his eyebows furrowed. He started texting somebody, I wonder who...
"A-le-" I was cut off by Braden tightening his grip on my stomach causing me to let out another gasp.
"I'm being suffocted to death, this is where its ending isn't it" I thought while trying to get out of his arms.
"Face it sweetie, your new little boy toy isn't gonna help you." He laughed while simultaneously looking from me to Alex.
"He's not my- boy- toy." Wow. It's hard to talk when you're trying not to die,
"Let go of her!" Alex, finally, yelled while running towards me and he who shall not be named.
"And what if I don't?" When he said that, all hell broke loose. Alex swung and hit he who shall not be named in the nose. He let go of me to hold onto his, maybe broken, nose.
When he let go of me, I stumbled and fell staight down. I was gasping for air and couldn't move properly so Katy tried to help me get to the car while Alex beat up he who shall not be named. Katy's mom finally realized what was happening and tried to break the two up. She failed. But just our luck, there was a police officer a couple of yards away. He ran over to them and peeled them apart. He lectured them and then, like all stupid police officers in this town, went for doughnuts.
After we piled into the car, Alex asked if I was okay. I replied with a "yeah, I guess." Even though he knew that I wasn't.
And that kids, is how I almost died before graduation
