Jessica had the face of disbelief after reading DC Blakes report, she had the whole picture painted, she felt sad, but she didn't cry, her body didn't want to. All she wanted to do was float away, float away from all her problems. She didn't want to be alive anymore, not after what she had read in the report, not after those pages ate her in one bite. The sound of the clock echoed in her head, "Tik, Tok, Tik, Tok." The sound couldn't escape, it was stuck on a constant loop, a loop she hated. Then one of the nurses walked in, this nurse had long black hair and wore the classic pink scrubs, she looked young, very young in Jessica's eyes, "Hello Jessica, I'm one of the nurses, I'm here to check your vitals." – Jessica nodded in agreement, she didn't want to speak, her body wouldn't allow her to, she was like a prisoner in her own body, stuck, trapped and lost. The nurse placed the strap around her arm, the coldness gave her intense shivers, the machine greeted both Jessica and the nurse with a beep, and the strap began getting tighter and tighter, it felt like someone was squeezing the little life she had left out of her, bit by bit, the machine freed the captive Jessica after gaining her blood pressure, how does that machine know what my blood pressure is? – was Jessica's first thought after the nurse had gotten the strap off her, but that question quickly ran out of her head. She had other problems to worry about. After the nurse had left the room the thought of DC Blake's report came back to haunt her again. The three-page report was left on the table that sat a couple of inches away from her, the nurse had put it there just before she left, but Jessica didn't remember her doing so.
