Chapter 14: Celebrations and Changes

Shelby's POV

I wake up from a horrible nights rest as I couldn't get what my father said out of my head, what did he do and why are the police on him, I hope it's nothing bad.

I look over to see Jania laying there sleeping peacefully as she snuggles into me more, I smile but soon the moment is ruined by my father walking in smiling at the scene in front of him

"Rise and shine Shelby, get dressed and head down to the studio, I need you to meet with Jamal and Hakeem" Luscious says with a mischievous smirk, he seems almost happy this morning which is odd considering his personality. I get up and as I make my way to the bathroom I see a fairly disorganized Cookie fixing her hair as she leaves my fathers room, I know this man did not.

Cookie looks at me and we nod understandingly as she makes her way out, suddenly I feel hands on my shoulders and I turn around to see a sleepy looking Jania smiling at me as she hugs me

"Good morning sleepyhead" I say as she just hums and kisses my shoulder, I smile and hug her back before pulling away and giving her a peck on the lips and forehead

"I have to head to Empire to see my brothers today baby so I gotta shower" I say as I walk to my closet, I turn to see her pouting adorably

"But babe what about our date" Jania says as she walks towards me like a small child, I smile and pull her close before I cup her face

"Baby our date will happen, though it may have changed a bit" I say hesitantly causing her to move back and look at me with her arms folded

I put my hands up and say "I changed it, I just need to you know....... book everything" I say nervously as she stares at me with a look that is not only sexy but tell me to watch my back

Jania smiles and kisses my lips before saying "well get it done, have fun with your brothers and I'll meet you at empire" I smile and nod as I watch her walk away and damn I love watching her walk away

I adjust my boxers and head into the bathroom to shower....... which is gonna be a cold one

I make my way to the studio where I'm supposed to meet Jamal and Hakeem, i open the door to see them already recording but as I listen closer i realize it's one of Luscious most successful songs and one of my favorites, Your so beautiful

I smile as I watch them for a bit and just listen to the song, Jamals vocals go well with the song but it seems to be missing something, I walk up behind Luscious and Cookie as they listen too

They smile towards me as Jamal and Hakeem finish out the verse and Cookie stops the beat

"Y'all sound amazing" Cookie says proudly and excitedly, Jamal and Hakeem look between each other and back to us

"Why don't you guys join us" Jamal says, Luscious, Cookie and I looks at each other before shrugging and getting into the booth with them, Jamal and Hakeem on one said and Cookie and Luscious in the middle with me on the other end, even though this is a family moment, Hakeem is still on my shit list even if Tiana did him wrong a second time

We all start singing together and Cookie ends it off with the classic line "How much you pay for" Casio  by all of us to laugh and joke, I glance over to see Andre watching quietly, I wave towards him as everyone keeps cracking jokes and playing around. He raises his glass to us but I can tell he's upset which honestly, with him being the business side of Empire and our father loving music more than business, I can see why he feels left out.

We decide to take a break since Luscious has a meeting and Cookie has to tend to her artist so I decide to write  some songs in the mean time. I get half way through the song when I hear the door open and Jania walks in, I smile but can't help but look her up and down. She's wearing a black pant suit with a white dress shirt but it's in buttoned so you can see her chest and some side boob.
