Shelby's POV

I walk back into the house as I adjust my jacket and wipe my lips, I look around as I move my jacket to cover my neck, I head up to my room and take a long shower before laying down in my bed and knocking out immediately

Time skip

Here I am getting call after call about Hakeem not signing to Creedmour but he's still leaving Empire, great

I turn my phone off before turning to my soundbored, as I do I hear cookie talking in the back as I go to sing, I sigh and get up walking out of my room and walk to my father room to see her looking at my father

I walk up to her and before I can say anything I hear my father say in his sleep

"Aye Bunkie go on man" He says and I immediately perk up

"What the hell" I say as I walk up to Cookie and my father

"Baby you know what he took" She says and I shake my head no, I look to my father confused as he keeps talking and the next thing he says makes my stomach drop

"You can't be here man I killed yo ass, just like Shines boy kept threatening me with the money man" He says tiredly

"What did you say Luscious" Cookie says confused, just as she says that my father leans up looking towards the wall scaring the shit out of me

"Everyone that crosses me dies, everybody...and y'all can't kill me, you think Hakeem can hurt me, you think Cookie can hurt me Bunkie....you did some nasty shit to my  girl....the mother to my daughter and you think you can live....put a hit on her and left my child motherless..yo god can't even hurt this boy.....I'm not dyin" Luscious says as I start breath heavily and I start to freak out from what he said

I lean against the dresser as I start to feel my vision go out and I can only hear things in and out

"Bunky was my cousin you son of a bitch" Cookie says and I immediately move to the hallway before collapsing on the floor and everything goes black

I wake up in my bed and look around as I grab my head, the memories of last night and I immediately feel the anger took over for panic

He lied to me about everything regarding my mothers death, but he killed him because of money and my mom but why keep it from me

As I get lost in my thoughts, my door opens causing me to look over and see my father

"Come downstairs...it's time" He says causing me to clench my jaw and nod, I get out of bed and get dressed before walking downstairs with him and seeing my brothers at the table

I sit down next to Jamal and look at the black and gold wrapped box in front of me, I look around and see the same in front of my brothers

I sit down as my father walks in after me and looks at us, i start to get remember when he brought us together last time to discuss this

"Yesterday a miracle happened, my doctor came and told me I don't have ALS...I was misdiagnosed, what I got is serious but it's not fatal" He says happily causing me to adjust in my seat uncomfortably, that's explains what he said last night

"So you not dyin.....what does  that mean for empire" I say in shock but kept my tone low, he said he wasn't dyin last night but I thought he was lying about his ALS, Not that he was misdiagnosed

"I've been given a second chance at life" He says happily as he moves to thr other side of the table

"Dad that's amazing" Jamal says in shock as he adjusts in his seat, I look at the gift in front of me

"It's a miracle son I mean I woke up this morning...so conscious of all the harm I've done to each and everyone of y'all"My father says as he looks from each other us but his eyes linger on me

I'm sorry what!?

"I'm not askin y'all to forgive me, let's open up the gifts" He says

"I don't want nothin from you" Hakeem says causing me to roll my eyes

"Something tells me there's something with this" I say looking at my father who smile at me

"Please just open it" He says and Hakeem sighs before opening his gift and pulls out a chain with wings on it

"Those wings are an emblem of empires jet trait, I should have never tried to control you, that was wrong and I'm sorry about Camilla.... so when your album drops you'll have your own jet to tour anywhere you want...and don't let me or anybody else try and control you again" My father says to Hakeem who looks confused

I look over to Andre who leans up in his seat and the air in the room is tense and I'm very anxious, given that I feel like something is about to happen

Andre opens his gift and pulls out a cross

"That's the Lyon of juda...because you knew exactly what I was doing when I tried to take Michelle, I was just tryin to break your faith like it had been done to me..and that was wrong so when the IPO closes on Friday I'm going to announce the start of the Lyon foundation and your gonna have 100 million dollars at your disposal" My father says and Andre nods before putting down his gift

My father looks to me and I let out a shaky breath as I start to get flashes of my mother and I and the day that my father picked me up from the police station, my mothers funeral where he came to support me, the helps with music and on till now before opening my gift and frown my eyebrows as I see golden keys and as well as tickets and fliers

"That is the key to the marketing department and a stake in the company..as well as the fliers and tickets represent your ability to have as many performances you want to do as well as the ability to tour whenever you decide.....I shouldn't have abandoned you when you and your mother needed me....especially since I had every opportunity to take you in....you are the image of me when I was your age and my only daughter and I should have protected you and your mother...it's one of my biggest regrets" My father says and I let out a big sigh as I stare at my gift happily

I smile as I look over to Jamal who looks anxious like I was, Jamal opens his gift and pulls out a staff with a Lyon at the top of it as he looks at our dad confused

"The empire is yours Jamal" Our father says and I smile as Jamal looks at all of us, I look to see Andre and Hakeem looking very upset and bitter but I pat him on the back and he smiles toward me

"Heard you were looking for me" Cookie says coming over to us

"Hey, gathered everybody together to share with them the good news" My father says and Cookie looks to me and I look away

"What good news" She says confused as she comes in, I know she heard him last night too so she's playing dumb

"I was misdiagnosed, the Angel of death came to get me and I got a meal of reprieve, can you believe that" Luscious says with a smile, I can see on his face

He knows something

He looks to me before looking back to cookie, he asks Cookie to open hers and she does to reveal.....a pillow

Weird....what why did she get a pillow, I look to them both and see them glaring at each other

Oh god what am I missing
