Chapter Thirty-Eight: So it begins

Shelby's POV

"So you left empire for a start up label" I say causing Tiana to sigh

"Jamal isn't pushin me at all.. but with you plotting on they downfall and everything I may move out of this deal" Tiana says

"Yea but I'm movin in...plus when Shelby get out then ima be workin for you and her" Tay says and Tiana smiles excitedly

"Yea...look Tiana it's best you stay with empire, they got Hakeem so they good but I'm sayin that for my plan to work..ima get you that exposure you need especially if we do a collab when I'm fresh out" I say causing Tiana to squeal happily

"Really...my fans have been asking for that and I've been wanting to do another one" She says and I nod cause her to pull me into a hug

"Yea...just write out what you want and I'll rap or sing wit you depending on what sounds best..and Tay you gon be in the music video and I already got a way to self promote us all" I say and they smile at each other

"As long as you get this done and control Jamal...he more pissy after Cookie and them left" Tiana say as and I nod

"Unlike them I'm not looking to take the company but help expand it" I say, we keep talking before our time is up and I move to the hallways where I see my father grumbling

"What's up" I say as my father tags along with us

"Theses bitches lost my authorization form now I can't get my meds" He says and I suck my teeth

"Someone took it because you been in there gettin treated now it's missing...watch out for anyone suspect" I say and my father nods

"Don't get used to prison life baby....it's not for you" He says before heading off, I sigh and get to my cell

No One's POV

A young boy into empire with his sister who looks very determined for a reason he  is oblivious to for...purposes

"Tay you think he gon like my track, I've been working hard on it and I can't tKe rejection on this like Creedmour did me" Tyshon says to his sister who sighs and locks her arm with his

"TY you are amazing plus, Shelby is finna put out a good word on you for him, she been sayin you should be signed since day one so chill....be yourself" Tay says to her brother who smiles crookedly at his baby sis

"Thanks Tay...you been my rock, and I got Shelby when she's out...got a song for her now" Tyshon says and Tay smiles and pinches his cheek causing the boy to roll his eyes and push her hand away

"Go wow him, ima go to dance with Tiana and maybe get a number of one of the girls....good luck TY Ty" Tay says before walking past the studios and Tyshon lets out a nervous breathe before being escorted to Jamal's office

Tay smiles towards her brother before pulling her phone out and heading to Instagram and looking on Hakeem's Instagram page and to his story

She sees that he's at a rundown studio downtown, Tay looks into the background to see Andre is present there causing her to smile before making her way to Tiana in the dance studio

Shelby's POV

I sit in the yard with my father as the guys behind us talk, they ask him about this verse he been working on as well as me

"Of course I've been workin on it, just don't got the right sound yet" I say and they nod and my father starts rapping his verse after they give him a beat

I listen and smile as he's gon have a hit when we get out, suddenly I hear him start coughing causing me to rub his back

"Aye dad you good, you ok" I ask as I try and get him to breath right when suddenly one of the guards comes over

"How we doin over here inmates" The cop says and I look him up and down

"Can't you see this man needs medical attention" One of the guys says

"Yea he needs to be seen" I say and Luscious waves it off

"Nah I'm good I'll talk to y'all in a minute" He says and I sigh rub his back

"Good, parties over though so ima need y'all boys to get the fuck off my table" He says and I got to say something but one of the guys pulls me back

"We not boys...we men and one is a young woman" One of the guys says causing the cop to look at him

"What you say" The cop says and I shake my head, it be ya own that be taken by the system every time

"You called us boys, we men and one is a young woman" The guy repeated

"Man don't worry about it, we used to punk bitches like him back in the day" My father says

"Did you just threaten me boy" The cop says and I go to saying and he puts his hand in his weapon causing me to look at him like he lost his mind

"You pullin a gun on me....you just as punk bitch as them white cops that shoot us down in the streets" I say as more cops come over and they push me away from the cop and push me onto the table and cuff me

"Aye come on she just a kid what the fuck" My father says as they pull me away, i hear they yell for me to be cool and just sigh as they take me back out of the yard

I get to my cell and they throw me in and lock the cell door behind them, I sigh and just hop on the bed and keep studying, I realized I can finish school in here so that's what ima do and get some college courses done

My plans better be workin cause I'm comin out ready

A/n damn well things is goin interestingly over here in jail and in Empire, watch what's goin on with dynasty tho, you'll see
