New York City, 2012. STARK TOWER
(?:??)

Amelia P.O.V.
He slowly lifted himself up as he glances around—clearly confused. His eye color was no longer a light blue so that leads me to believe he is back to having control over his mind.

"Doctor?"

"Loki's scepter, the energy...the Tesseract can't fight. You can't protect against yourself..." he says groaning as he gets on his knee and peers up to the portal.

"It's not your fault. You didn't know what you were doing." Natasha consolidates as she puts a hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah Doctor, you didn't know what you were doing.. it's okay" I lightly smile.

"Well, actually I think I did... I built in a safety to cut the power source.." he remembers. Natasha and I look at each-other and she walks over to the machine.

"The little grey and red button below the metal?" I ask remembering the thing I saw earlier, while observing the portal.

"Loki's scepter.." Natasha realizes—she turns to me, then down to where Loki was in the Stark Tower.

"It might be able to close the portal.." Dr. Selvig suggests as he looks over somewhere.

"And I'm looking right at it."

I put my hand up to my earpiece to inform Stark we have a possibility to close the portal. I am grinning from ear-to-ear, finally knowing we have hope when I hear my ear piece overcomes static and it glitches into Fury's voice.

"Stark? You hearing me?" Director Fury asks as I widen my eyes.

My ear piece must have interfered and the waves that are supposed to go to Stark's earpiece are now heading to mine.

"We have a missile headed straight for the city" Fury says and my smile immediately drops.

A missile...?

"Fury—this is Amelia Carney. The ear piece waves have been interfered and I am receiving Stark's message. I have eyes on Stark and.. he's.. he's too busy at the moment." I say as the wind blows my hair and I take a shaky breath.

"I'll take care of the missile—how long until it reaches the city?" I ask and there's a moment of silence on the other end.

"Three minutes, at best. Stay low and wipe out the missile." Fury sternly says followed by him asking "How will you reach it?". Knowing I have no way to fly and if I was to create a flying device it would designate the moment it reaches my foot and I try to grab the missile with both hands.

"I know I never told you guys this but.. I have a flying ability. I told Natasha and I asked her not to inform you..." I say—ashamed as I jump off the side of Stark tower and zoom towards the missile knowing I don't have a lot of time.

Natasha is off getting the scepter that she doesn't see me jump off.

"And why's that?" Fury spits—quite furious.

"I didn't want you guys to rely on me for flying.. I stopped using that ability after I couldn't save my m.... my 'friend'.. with it.." I say as I lock eyes with the missile.

"I understand." Is all that Fury says causing a shocked face to grow on my face. I let out a relieved sigh knowing it's not easy for Fury to forgive people. "I can't talk anymore Fury—I have eyes on the missile. Turning off my ear piece..." I lowly say.

I turn off my ear piece and stop midair waiting for the missile to reach me as I grab ahold of it.

Fury's P.O.V.
I was furious at Amelia for not informing me she had a flying ability. I was even more furious at Natasha for never pulling me aside and at least dropping a hint.

I couldn't get show Amelia I was angry because it would mess up her performance on getting the missile somewhere safe.. I know what she was going to say. Natasha actually did inform me she lost someone very close to her but when we checked her files it showed both her parents were very much alive and her only relations were with Natasha.

"Agent Hill?" I call still looking out the large window in front of me.

"Yes sir?"

Amelia's P.O.V.
I get ahold of the missile and aim it upwards towards the portal. I let out a loud groan as I push all my weight up trying to get the missile to go up. I need to get this missile to strike the mothership, it's the only way the Chitauri will fall back! I soon hear loud sound waves pass my ears and Stark was beside me.

"What the hell Amelia—First you can fly now you suddenly have a missile?!" He huffs, clearly upset.

"Stark..—This missile is headed straight for the city. Tell Natasha not to close the portal and go help the rest if the team, I've got this." I groan as I push the missile more up and Stark helps.

"Okay, f***ing rewind! Natasha can close the portal?! And hell no! You go help them—I'm now taking care of this!" He growls nudging me away but I just tighten my grip.

"Stark, tell Natasha not to close the portal."

"Okay.. Natasha? Natasha don't close the portal! We have a missile headed straight for the city and we're going to put it in the portal!" He shouts through his head piece.

"Thank you Stark.." I say as the missile reaches over land still headed straight for the portal. We pass many buildings and I heavily sigh.

"Stark.. I know how stubborn you can be but.. you've been a good friend to me. I can't let you go." I say as I take one hand off the missile and reach into my pocket.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean? Amelia—let go of the missile, I've got it!"

"Stark, send the team my dearest regards" I say as I turn my body around and throw a device on Tony's arc reactor causing his suit to fail and his grip on the missile to let go.

"AMELIA!"

I throw the other end of the device onto a building and turn my body back around to make sure the missile goes into the portal. Stark stay behind me trying to take the device off of the arc reactor as he hangs off a building by a cord.

"Amelia..." he mumbles as he watches you lead the missile closer to the portal.
