"So that's Hale?"

"What?! Don't worry, this will be our little secret okay?"

"Bahala ka diyan." Sumimangot ako sa kanya at sinuot ang aking evening gown para sa last part ng pageant, ang question and answer portion. Nakita ko ang flowers na binigay ni Hala kanina sa stool ko, I then suddenly smiled that made Bia's eyes narrowed a bit.

After the pageant, sadly we only won second place, but the class seems very happy with it. The winner was the grade five student, it was another year and we four started to hang out on school, but when it comes to movies and some outdoor stuff, I normally make excuses. It's not like I don't want to hang out with them, I'm just not comfortable being outside.

Arsen is being so friendly as well. We normally call each other every afternoon and sometimes, he comes to our house just to make mem check his assignments that our school had given us this summer. Wala naman akong masyadong ginawa kundi magbasa ng mga novels, until it was another school year. I look myself at the mirror with my contact lenses, this is my first time using them as a student, and I'm very afraid that people would bully me because of it, but I guess, I need to be bold for once.

Kori's mouth parted when she saw me at the gate. She waved at me and run towards me with a hug as she looked so surpised. "Ikaw ba yan? Maraming mag ka-kacrush sayo niyo Jemi!"

"Hindi naman. You have a lot of admirers." Namula na bigla ang kanyang pisnge dahil sa sinabi ko. On Valentine's day, last year, when we were still at grade two, boys all over the builder would give her chocolates and flowers, plus balloons with her name of it. I was very stunned at first but I get it that she is very pretty and bubbly too, it's like, she doesn't have any problems at all.

We walk to our building and as usual, magkatabi nanaman kami. I just feel moe comfortable with her by my side. It's very pleasant when Jewel nor Jessica is not your classmate, it's more breathable. As the class resume, our class adviser wanted a seating arrangement! What! Why?

Kori made a sad face when she was beside this rich man that is the son of the mayor in Sta. Lucia, so most of the time, he always brag about his expensive stuff.

"Miss Jemima?" inangat ko ang aking mukha sa adviser namin at tinaas ang aking dalawang kilay, ngumiti siya. "Sit beside Mr. Arsen and Mr. Grego." I did a deep sigh before getting my things and moving towards Arsen and Greg. Everyone cheered when Arsen moved the chair to me as I felt my cheeks burning a little.
