Chapter 20

"How are you Hale?" The wind blew my hair away from my face as his eyes widened when he saw me.

"Am I dreaming?"

"It's me, Jemima!" he tilted his head again, trying to function what am I saying but instead, I walked towards him nearer as my hand caresses his elbow before pressing myself down to the sand and my hands were on a big rock nearby.

Naramdaman ko na umupo din siya sa kaliwa ko.

"Why are you here?" Pagbasag niya ng katahimikan. I look at the sea in front of us and slowly leaned my back at the big rock and my arms were stretched up, playing with the long leaves of the palm tree that reached my face.

"Para sa retreat namin."

He coughs take a deep breath before meeting my eyes as he leans down on me. Bigla na lang nag tambol ang aking puso at umiwas na lang ng tingin. I felt him lay his back on the same rock saka nagdikit ang aming mga siko. I immediately made my distance and tried to act natural when he turned his gaze upon me.

"I mean here in the shore. You're not supposed to be here. Wala ba kayong rules para dito?"

"Hindi ako makatulog. Kapag hindi nila alam na nandito ako, siguro hindi nila ako papagalitan..." my eyes narrowed and lifted my body. Ngayon ako nman ang nakadungaw sa kanya. His lips pursed and licked them afterwards. "Unless you tell sister that I broke one of her rules."

His hands were on the air, he tucked the excess hair that were on my face and smiled at me sadly. What's wrong with him? "Why would I let my Jemima get caught?" he smiled playfully and started to pout as I let my body rest on the rock again then my arms were on the air, wanting to touched the sky, wanted to reach a star, wanting to be a star in writing.

Pero malabo.

Siguro hanggang pangarap na lang ako.

"After I make my publishing house business a success, would you be my first author?"

I was out of words in what he just said and looked away after my mind was clouded in many rejections I got. I just received another noticed na rejected nanaman daw ag book ko. Ayoko na, it was a fantasy book that is full of magic and mysterious worlds around simple things and how evil is just around the corner. Hindi daw pang bata ang story na yun kaya't ayun, ayaw nilang tanggapin.

"A-re you sure? I mean like my story hasn't been accepted yet, it may destroy the image—"
