'Y/n' is used in reader inserts. Stands for 'your name'. What I love about this abbreviation is that it's quick to read, like you're actually reading over your name, something you recognise. And its used so much its pretty my a second name for us readers.
Don't do this:
'_______'
[Name]
[Your name]
" "'Y/n' is such a common wattpad term that when you use something else, see above, it kinda throws readers off.
Its also so much easier to write 'y/n' or maybe 'f/n'. Even if its just 'yn'. Changing that sacred wattpad term to something like what I listed above...makes it feel like I'm filling out a form and not reading a story.
Use the Holy 'y/n'.
