O Brother, where art thou?

Shinjuku city, this city of lights regressed to a feudal era city with technological advances. The skyscrapers of the city were redesigned into large yaguras with many stories. The yakuza of the city took this opportunity to restructure everything.

Taking control of the businesses and acting like guards around to protect them from monsters. The knowledge of the games' monsters vanished as if everyone was starting from the beginning except for the quirk user that changed the world. People begin to study the monsters more in-depth compared to the games. There was more to their behavior as some mimic real-world animals. But certain monsters were still undiscovered such as the black dragons, variants, and certain elder dragons. Creating this veil of mystery for when these monsters are encountered.

Many of the citizens of Shinjuku city took notice of Midoriya walking alone to the central fountain. Many try to speak with him or have him enter their place of business. Even some of the women of the hostess clubs try to seduce him to spend some time there. His reputation is based on how much he spends his time with Ryuji. The two have been friends since kindergarten, Ryuji picking fights when someone bullies Midoriya. Many see Midoriya as a friend and ally to the clan. His respect was earned by his caring and friendly nature.

Walking past a hostess club with the women trying to show a little too much of their cleavage in their kimonos. Midoriya blushes profusely as they call him Izuku-Kun. He arrives at the center fountain in front of the Kurosaki family building shortly after.

Midoriya lights up to see Ryuji waiting with a box of takoyaki in his hand.

"Ryuji!" Midoriya said and ran to him.

"Yo," Ryuji said with a wave and tosses the takoyaki up. A little purple flame keeps the box floating and follows the young lord.

"Why did you skip school again? You know if you keep skipping class then It would be boring without you. I need to stay awake to be ready for U.A." Midoriya said as he looks at his friend's red eyes.

"You seem very adamant about going to U.A. High School. You sure you won't think about being my handler or even my support partner?" Ryuji said as he pouts a little. Hoping his friend doesn't crash and burn at the exam for U.A. He sighs as he looks at the determined eyes of Midoriya. Nothing changed, all Ryuji can give was a smile.

Midoriya watches as Ryuji snaps his fingers and has the flame vanish. Landing in his hand and offering it to Midoriya.

Ryuji Kurosaki, Quirk: Onibi Essences. He can create purple flames like a magnamalo and have them explode too. A dangerous combination of his parent's quirks and making Ryuji the Alpha of the Magnamalos at birth. They sense strength and they follow the alpha, who is the head of the clan.

Midoriya looks at the takoyaki and back at Ryuji. Behind him is his clan's building with the emblem of their clan. The yakuza of Shinjuku City operate as heroes and businessmen. They still have the appearance of thugs in suits and tattoos on their bodies but follow their code with pride. The emblem of the clan changed from the Oni's head to the face of Magnamalo. Known as the Malice Tiger Wyvern, these fang Wyverns aren't usually seen in packs but after the beginning of quirks and many fights with the yakuza. They follow the Kurosaki clan as a pack.

"Come on, eat up. You shouldn't daydream." Ryuji said with a smirk and flicks his friend in the forehead. Midoriya shakes his head to stay focused and the two sit down at the fountain's edge. Midoriya sets his backpack down and sighs as he can finally have a moment with his friend.

"Have you heard from your brother? I haven't seen him since my birthday last year. I heard he is with the pro hero Mirko. They were last seen in India fighting Jhen Mohran! How cool is that?! Them fighting an elder dragon!" Midoriya said with glee as he thought of the silhouettes of the rabbit hero: Mirko and Satoshi Kurosaki. Satoshi's armor is in honor of his late Master Utsushi: Ninja-styled Zinogre armor.

"Yea, those two started to date last year around Christmas. She was somewhat a loose cannon when they started. After some time, she warmed up to him after seeing him fight. I guess she found a sparing and loving partner in him. I don't know, I just met her once and those two were arm wrestling. He lost, like by a lot before he won one." Ryuji said and took a takoyaki from the box.

"What about Akira? I heard he was improving the support gear to fight monsters and was going to be the lead teacher for hunting support in U.A." Midoriya asks as he starts to eat takoyaki too.

"Yea, big bro, and his fiancée are going to be at U.A. You could be in his class cause you helped him with his ideas," Ryuji said as he points the takoyaki stick at Midoriya.

"Why are you so determined to have me change my mind?! Do you think I can't do it?" Midoriya snapped and broke the takoyaki stick in two. Standing up from his seat and stare down at Ryuji. This was the hundredth time he heard this from Ryuji when Midoriya mentioned going to the U.A. Exams. He looks at Ryuji with this sudden anger, as if he was trying to prove something to himself and his friend. A strong pain of seeing the boy he calls a brother, say these suggestions to him. Ryuji stood up and stared at his friend straight in the eye.

"I don't want to lose my best friend if he doesn't make it. It's going to be a cut-throat competition at the exams, and I am getting in through recommendation. My clan can do that for you but help you enter the support classes. If you don't make it, I don't want to see you spiral into that void again when you found out you were quirkless." Ryuji said and looked down at his feet feeling ashamed at what he said. He sat back down remembering their childhood together. The many times he picked a fight with Bakugo over Midoriya being quirkless.

Midoriya saw his friend care so much about him and he placed his hand on Ryuji's shoulder. "I will be a hero like All Might, and I will be there with you at U.A. I have a feeling and you need to trust me. Kacchan won't believe me if I said it but I know you will trust me even if I don't say it."

Ryuji thinks for a moment and stands back up. Looking at his brother and head butts his Izuku with a smirk. Midoriya falls with the takoyaki safely in his hands. "Nope, after all these years. I can't read your head, even with force." He said as he laughed. Offering his friend a hand before he heard Midoriya's phone ring. Once Midoriya stands up, he checks his phone for who texted him.

"Oh, I have to go now. I am going to be late going home." Midoriya said as he gave the takoyaki to Ryuji and ran off. Ryuji sighs and sits back down to eat. Five minutes pass before Ryuji starts running after Midoriya.

"Izuku! You forgot your bag! Damn it! If he told me he has responsibility at home, mom or dad could have given him a ride by caravan!" Ryuji said as he continued to chase after his friend. Losing him in the crowd at the station, something is starting to make no sense. Midoriya is heading in the opposite direction to his home.

"Why would he take the station farther from his home? This one is closer to the beach. Wait, does he have a late-night date?" Ryuji starts to think who would ask him out but no one comes to mind. Maybe it's a secret date. The young lord smirks and takes the train towards the beach. Ryuji enters the next train and departs shortly after. The underground train starts to enter the reinforced tunnel, and darkness engulfs them. Some of the wards are separated by a large forest and its sub-biomes since the world changed. During the ride under the flooded forest, he starts to think about the beach.

Takoba Municipal Beach Park has been abandoned by the locals because of the trash. Sea monsters don't go near it because of human activity but sightings of some monsters drawing close to the coast are worrying.

Ryuji arrives at the station in Musutafu city, clutching his friend's bag. Heading off to the beach with the gut feeling that Midoriya is there. The sun starts to set, and the street lights come to life. He was almost there until something big appeared in front of him from the sky. A huge horned ape-like beast stood in front of him. A familiar-looking rajang stood between him and the beach.
