Me and Matt were heading down his stairs after arguing for 20 minutes about me not going to school...

"Come on, you haven't been there in weeks" Matt half whined half lectured me in a cute boyfriend way.

"Yeah well sorry there has been so many crazy vampire things going on lately, school just doesn't seem as important ... or exciting" I said.

"Your going to get kicked out ... don't you think that looks suspicious?" he said trying to give me a stern look.

"It's fine ... I am a thousand year old vampire, I've done the whole school thing Matt ... you on the other hand still have this to cherish so I'm not going to let you waste it" I said turning to him from the bottom stair while he was on the third stair which made him ridiculously taller than me but he bent over and placed a sweet small kiss on my forehead.

"It just sucks that I'm not going to get to walk down the hallway with my beautiful girlfriend and have everyone stare and be jealous" he said and I turned back and wrapped my arms around him.

"I'm sorry ... I know you want the whole normal girlfriend thing ... and I know we've talked about how we want to try and be that as much as possible ... but we also want to protect our friends and right now Alaric is a priority and a danger to us ... I have to help Stefan watch out for him while Damon and Elena are gone..." I said and let out a long breath.

"Yeah whats that all about again?" Matt asked looking confused.

"Elena called me this morning ... saying that Stefan wants her to sort out her feelings for Damon, so he wants her to go on this trip with him to figure out who she feels for .. more, if that makes sense" I chuckled.

"And we think were complicated" Matt laughed before he started kissing my neck and sucking on my sensitive spot below my ear which made me giggle.

"Ah, Ah, Ah don't try to distract me with your hot body, and your cute boyish grin, your going to be late for school" I pulled away and grabbed the car keys so I could drop him off. "Let's go" I said pulling him out the door.

After I dropped Matt off at school I immediately made my way to Stefan and Damons place. I was babysitting Ric with Stefan while Elena and Damon went to go pick up Jeremy. On the way there I couldn't help but think about what Matt was saying, when he told me wanted to make memories with me at school I could tell he really meant it ... I wish I could give him that, I want that for him ... but I wasn't sure it was that simple. I put pause on my thoughts as I pulled into Stefans driveway, Damon was loading the car.

"Hey, glad I caught you before you hit the road!" I said walking over to him.

"Hear to give me a kiss goodbye? Can't stand to be away from your best friend? Don't worry I'll be back soon" He grinned and I gave him a weird look.

"Your awfully chipper... this wouldn't have anything to do with it just being you and Elena going would it?" I said not trying to bum him out but to keep him from acting impulsively.

"Well its no secret Stefan is only doing this because he's testing Elena.. guess I chose to ignore that"

"Look, I know she cares deeply for the both of you ... but don't be stupid, alright?" I said before giving him a hug and heading inside but I met Elena at the door.

"Hey Aurora, thanks for doing this ... I wanted to make sure Ric would be in good hands if anything were to happen" she rambled "You know, in case Klaus stops by, or Rics other half comes out I want you guys to be prepared"

"Nervous?" I asked her trying not to laugh.

"More like anxious ... I have no idea what's going to happen while we're gone.." she said looking embarassed.
