『kuroo tetsurou × kenma kozume』

『パパ、パピがあなたをだましている。』

Kenma Kozume is a busy man. Meetings, collaborations, filmings, meetings, collaborations, filmings, meetings, collaborations, filmings- Kenma is a busy man, so most of the time, Kuroo is the one who fetches their four-year-old daughter, Kyoko.

Kenma usually comes home an hour after their daughter's dismissal, so whenever he enters the house, he would always expect Kyoko in the hallway, running to him with open arms.

"..."

... but that doesn't seem to be the case today.

Kenma shrugged as he loosens up his tie, throwing it into the laundry basket as he checks his phone, hoping for a message from Kuroo as to why are they not home yet. After seeing his notification box clean and empty, he tried calling his husband, but to no avail. Kenma waited, for about ten minutes, before deciding to take his car keys to go out again.

"Papa! Papa!"

Just when he is about to start the engine, he could hear a girl's voice calling out to him, followed by a couple of car honks. He withdrew the key out of its hole and got off the car, only to see Kyoko rushing to him with wide arms.

"Hey! I told you not to come down yet!" Kenma could hear Kuroo's voice from the car outside, but he paid it no mind as he walks to their daughter, immediately carrying her and kissing her cheeks as he embraces her tightly.

"Papa, that tickles," Kyoko giggled as she wraps her little arms around Kenma's neck. "Kyoko's home!"

A gentle smile surfaced on Kenma's lips. "Welcome home, Kyoko."

"So, what happened?"

"...so even Kyoko's cuteness didn't save us, huh." Kuroo joked just to lighten up the atmosphere, but he couldn't seem to get Kenma's piercing eyes off him. He was kneeling on the floor, Kenma's legs and arms are crossed on the couch, while Kyoko's busy eating pancakes and watching cartoons in her room.

"You don't usually come home with Kyoko this late," Thanks to Kuroo knowing Kenma so well, he can tell from his soft voice that Kenma's slightly mad. "Something came up with work?"

"No, I fetched her early as usual," Kuroo glanced at Kyoko, whose door was open so that they could see what she's doing inside. "We just... stopped over at the grocery store."

"Where is the food that you bought?" Kenma interrogated.

"Kyoko ate them all."

"And the receipt?"

"I threw it before we drove home. It was about two thousand yen worth of sweets. Kyoko ate them all."

"In an hour?" Kenma squinted his eyes.

Kuroo averted his gaze somewhere else- his heart beats faster every second Kenma stays silent. Kenma isn't the type who would flip out at every single thing, but if there's something that switches his mood like an on-and-off switch, it would be Kyoko. There was a time that Kyoko got missing, and Kenma almost spent all his money in a scam call. Kenma knows he's not a perfect parent, which made him more sensitive whenever something actually happened to their daughter, whatever it is.

"... well," Kuroo looked at Kenma when he stood up, heading to Kyoko's room with a game console on hand. "Next time, don't feed her too much. I don't want her to replace an actual meal with candies."
