Theo James Kiddnapped Me?

Chapter 14

Its my birthday. November 13. I'm officially 16. I told Theo that I didn't want anything for my birthday, living here is all I want. But even though I told him this I know he is up to something.

Ever since I told him when my birthday was, almost two weeks ago, he has been acting very suspicious.

Like yesterday something came in the mail and when I tried to ask him what it was he just took the package and ran into his room.

I slowly get out of bed and trudge into the kitchen only to find a note taped on the cereal box.

Dear Nicki,
I have a meeting today and I didn't want to wake you. I should be bake around 5:00.

Of course he isn't here on my birthday. All I wanted today was to spend time with him and he has a meeting. I guess he can't control that though.

I grab the cereal and a bowl and sit down at the table. Since Theo's house is really open it's really lonely.

After I finish breakfast I go into the living room and turn on the tv. There isn't much on at 7:30 am so I end up going through Instagram.

After a few hours I decide to attempt to cook lunch. I've never been a very good cook so I get out one of Theo's cookbooks.
After a few minutes of trying to find a recipe that actually looks good and easy I come across one for a chicken salad.

So I grab all the ingredients and 30 minutes later I have a chicken salad that looks like crap. But actually tastes pretty good.

I just still can't believe that Theo left me alone on my birthday. Its almost like he forgot. Maybe he did.

I go into the living room and sit down on the couch. I can't help it anymore, I let it all out. If someone saw me they would probably think I'm crazy. Since I'm crying my mascara is running.

I don't know how long I sit here crying but I hear the door open then close again. A minute later Theo comes into the room and looks over at me.
"Nicki" He says as he comes over to me
"What's wrong?"
"You forgot didn't you."
"Forgot what?"
I have to fight the urge to yell at him.
"My birthday"
His face immediately goes expressionless as he sits down next to me.
"What makes you think I forgot?"
"You left me alone."
"Nicki I had a meeting."
"You could of at least woke me up and told me!"
"Nicki I'm sorry."
I shrug, he doesn't really care.
"Com'n let me make it up to you."
I sigh and get up. We walk out to the car and Theo starts to drive.

Almost thirty minutes later we pull up at one of the best pizza places in town. Theo parks the car and helps me out. Once we walk in I start to walk to the waitress stand but Theo pulls me away and towards the main dining area.
"Theo" I say.
All he does is smile.

He leads me over to the private dining area and I see all my family and friends from Oklahoma sitting there. Once they see me they all start clapping.
"You didn't forget?" I say as I turn around to look at Theo.
"Of course I didn't."

After dinner we get back in the car and I'm still smiling. As we pull into the driveway of Theo's house I see a white Vw bug with a black sunroof sitting in the driveway. I look over at Theo.
"Is that for me?" I ask.
He throws a key at me and I get out to investigate the car.

"Do you like it?" He asks
"I love it."
I can sense him relax as he picks me up.
"Will you be my honorary daughter?" He asks .
"Of course."
He smiles then kisses me on the cheek.
