Aurelia
It had been a few weeks since the club fiasco. Aubrey called, Aubrey texted, Aubrey got his ass ignored. Well, ignored for the first week. I didn't have it in me to block him so I kindly let him know that I wasn't happy with him. He said he only kissed that girl he was with because he thought we were over and done with. He basically told on himself, I didn't know he kissed her, I thought he entertained her at most but when I found out that piece of information I decided to end our relationship. He wasn't happy with that but asked if we could still be friends. I agreed, reluctantly. Maybe he is a better friend than boyfriend. I just hate that we ended just as fast as we got started.
"Hey Mr. Carlson", I said walking into the main office of my apartment complex, "I just wanted to drop off my rent payment". Since Aubrey and I weren't together I definitely didn't expect him to pay my bills anymore. I hate that I let him talk me into staying at this complex and should have just got into an apartment that fit my budget like I had planned. You live and you learn, I guess.
"Oh shit! Oh gosh I apologize for the language Aurelia, things have been so busy around here I forgot to notify you that there was a payment made already" he said with a smile.
"What?! Ugh...could you tell me who made the payment?" I tried to sound less annoyed than I was.
"It was a Mr. A Graham. Sound familiar?"
"Of course. Is there anyway that you could return his funds?"
"I mean I can but he was very adamant about..."
"Send it back please!" I cut him off.
"Okay, well, uhm, I will reverse the payment," he said slowly.
"Thank you very much," I said taking the envelope with a cashier's check inside and placing it on his desk and started walking back to my apartment.
"HEY LIA!" I heard my name and turned around trying to find the direction it was coming from.
"Hey Eric," I blushed as he jogged up to me. He had to be coming from the gym, his shirt was off and his body was glistening. His muscles were bulging in all the right places and I was having a hard time making eye contact with him. Since I broke things off with Aubrey, Eric has really been there for me just lending an ear for me to vent. It was wrong of me to cut Aub off the way I did during the time I wasn't speaking to him for those three days but I definitely never thought he would cheat.
"So how have you been?" He asked softly.
I finally gained the courage to look into his eyes, "Good I suppose, I still feel tender about the whole situation. Still definitely embarrassed."
"Mami, embarrassed is the last thing you should feel, he just didn't appreciate what he had in you." He spoke softly as he raised his hand to brush his thumb over my cheek. After a few strokes he lowered his hand back to his side.
"It's way too early in the morning for you to have me blushing Sir," I smiled.
"Shouldn't you be at work?" I asked curiously.
"Yeah, but I never really take time off so they are forcing me to take my vacation days, I got a whole week off. I have no clue what the hell imma do...but I do know one thing baby girl," he smirked waiting for me to ask.
"And what is it that you know?," I rolled my eyes playfully.
"I have plenty of time to make you blush," his smirk turned into a full blown smile.
After Eric walked me back to my apartment I decided to lay down in bed and relax. I put on the first thing that looked interesting to me and not meaning to ended up falling asleep. I woke up a few hours later to my phone going off with back to back calls. I didn't bother picking up to check who was calling figuring it was bill collectors looking for the months payment. They were going to have to wait on that. It was hard enough coming up with the rent payment. I'm probably going to have to pick up a second job.
After the calls stopped my text notifications were the next thing to chime. I really didn't want to talk to anyone at the moment but it bad to be important if someone was calling and texting my ass. I grabbed my phone off of my end table to see a slew of missed calls and text messages from Aubrey. We had not spoken in a few days given that I was trying to distance myself a bit and I really wasn't trying to deal with any bullshit at the moment.
I clicked my phone off and placed it back on the night stand. I pulled the covers over my head and went back to sleep._________________________
The good 'ole filler chapter. Necessary yet boring. I also didn't take too much time to proof read this with the busy few weeks I have had so sorry if there are any major mistakes.More to come, thanks for reading!
