Chapter 31

Aubrey

Today has been amazing, it reminded me of how everything started with us in the first place. Our undeniable chemistry, mental and physical, we can just be and everything is good. Aurelia truly only desires the bare minimum with me, the minimum being loyalty and respect. I treat my boys like that daily, why I couldn't extend that to my woman? There is no good excuse. Lia never asks me for shit, she wants just me. I know now that all she wants is effort and I feel that I am truly ready to offer that.

"What are you thinking about?...I can feel you staring at me. It's actually weirding me out." She giggled as she shoved a decent amount of popcorn in her mouth.

When she said she just wanted to binge on junk and watch Netflix she wasn't lying. We were on our 5th movie and we were only a little halfway through the day.

I nuzzled my nose in her hair then kissed the top of her head. I was propped against the headboard and she was situated between my legs resting her back against my chest.

"I have been thinking about you...us."

"Aubrey..." she shook her head.

I held her tighter, "I know you say there is no us, but why not? Especially with how great today has been going, why not?"

She turned in my arms and settled into a kneeling position resting her palms on her thighs, "yeah Aub, today has been great. The other days...days we weren't even together and just trying to figure it out have been toxic as hell and I don't want to live my life that way. Do you understand that? That has been at least three of the what...the past four months or so that I have known you," she whispered.

I shook my head in disagreement, "I get your hesitant. Not saying I did nothing to contribute to that but...we can make this work, baby. I know we can."

"Aub-" she dropped her head.

"What we are gonna do is remove every toxic factor. Charlie is gone. Eric will be gone-"

"Aub, how will I do that, he lives practically next door and I work with him!"

"We are moving and you will be getting a new job." I said flatly.

"What?! Are you crazy I can't get a new jo...wait," she place a hand to her forehead, "WE are moving?" She asked, incredibly confused by my words.

"Yes, we. You wont uproot so I am moving here. I can run my businesses from anywhere and even if I needed to be in Toronto for business. It's a short flight away." I was serious and she could tell by the look in my eye.

"You...you are moving here...for me?" Her brows furrowed and she cocked her head to the side.

"Yes, I am. We wont live here though. We are gonna find a place in the city, you are gonna quit your job and if you want to work, I want you to do things that you always dreamed of." I grabbed her waist and pulled her closer, "we gonna do this relationship properly this time."

She was quiet, staring into my eyes. During her silence I prayed she would say yes.

"I...dont know, I dont know what to say...this is a lot Aubrey."

"Shhhh," I placed my index finger to her lips, "I want you...do you want me?"

"Of course I do," she said softly, her bottom lip quivering.

"Then it's settled." My smile stretched ear to ear. Hers did the same.

Aurelia

"So we are doing this?" I needed reassurance.

He smiled nodding his head. I threw my arms around his neck and buried my head there. He wrapped an arm around me and pulled my legs apart to straddle him with his free hand.

"So I figured, since there is still time in the day that we could go check out a few spots."

I nodded my head eagerly. I cant believe he his really willing to move here. I feel like we actually have a chance now.

"Alright, go get ready for me baby, put on something sexy too because after we handle this business I want to take you to dinner, somewhere nice." His grin was wide.

I took hold of his face and brought it towards mine so that we were resting on each others foreheads. He lifted my chin and kissed my lips, I could feel the kiss long after it was over. He just had that affect on me.

He smiled against my lips and whispered, "go".

I had never hopped out of bed so quickly, he laughed at the speed I was moving. I ran to the closet and tried to find something to wear. I literally had nothing that fit the description of attire he wanted me to wear. Aside from work scrubs, I had nothing but blue jeans, sweats and nothing all that upscale as far as tops were concerned.

"Fuck!" I said a little too loudly.

"What's wrong baby?" Aubrey stood behind me and placed his hands on my hips, kissing me on my cheek.

I motioned towards my closet and Aubrey furrowed his brows, "yeah we gonna have to get you some clothes baby."

He removed his hand from my hips and gently pushed me to the side so he could rummage through my belongings. He pulled a pair of tight blue skinny jeans, a white blouse that I had not worn in three years and the one pair of black pumps I owned. I usually borrow stuff from Aris but I always give it back.

"Alright, this will have to do for now, tomorrow we will continue our house hunt if we find nothing today and we will also update your wardrobe."

"Baby I cant, I work tomorrow." I reminded him.

"Baby you can, because your quitting."

"Oh yeah..."

"Yeah." He winked.

Grabbing my hand he led me from my closet and into the bathroom, turning on the shower to let the water warm to my liking. He lifted my arms above my head and removed my top. I kept my hand on his shoulders to steady myself as he removed my bottoms. He stood up and I returned the favor, looking down to admire his manhood that stood at attention between us.

He smirked, "C'mon, this time I will give it to you how I know you like it."
