034, confessions...kinda

TWO DAYS LATER

"no texts, no phone calls, nothing."

"on the bright side, we don't all hate you."

"they don't hate you, they're just being dramatic. nothing to worry about, jackie."

jackie sniffed for about the fifth time, she hated feeling an immense amount of guilt and confusion.

karl deeply sighed, "well i'm gonna go. early morning tomorrow. bye guys."

"bye karl!"

"bye."

jackie and alex sat in silence for a few minutes.

"how are you." alex asked.

"confused, i don't get why george would say that about me. i thought he didn't like me, y'know?"

"definitely not the case," he mumbled, assuming jackie wouldn't hear him. "what was that?"

"alex."

"jackie."

"can you repeat what you said?"

"jackie?"

jackie tapped on her phone to get herself off pause, "no, before that. after i said i thought george didn't like me."

"i don't know what you're talking about."

"yes you do, i won't get mad."

"oh."

alex mumbled under his breath, "um, don't say anything, or do, i wasnt involved though, gotta go jackie, bye."

jackie left the call soon after alex did as well, and the only reasonable thing to do was to call george.

unfortunately she didn't have the confidence to confront him, but she had to. for the sake of literally everyone, to cause a divide between dream and george was the last thing she wanted.
