Sam's POV
Kasey left around 7:30, after she had dinner with my mom, dad, Jailynn (little sister) and I.
Jailynn got up from the table and walked to her room. She seemed a little distraught, she's only 8, she can't have too serious of problems, so I thought maybe trying to help her would help me feel better. I walked down the hall to her room, knocked softly and opened the door.
"Hey, how was your day?" I asked.
"Alright, I guess how was yours?" Jailynn Asked me.
"Don't even get me started!" I said with a little laugh. Jailynn ran up to me and hugged me. At first I didn't know what was going on, but after a few seconds I hugged back. I heard her begin to cry.
"Jai? What's going on?" I said still cradling her small body.
She was heaving in breath after breath.
"Calm down Jai, breath, your okay, I'm right here." I whispered softly rocking back and forth, I continued by asking, "What's going on?"
"Why are you always leaving?" She said in between breaths. Something wasn't right, Jailynn was not all upset over just this. I decieded not to pry.
"I usually left to hang out with, erm, Tyler. But don't worry I'm going to be home a lot more now." I reassured her, she looked up.
In shock she said, "Where's Tyler gonna be?"
"Well Jai, me and Tyler broke up because Tyler doesn't have very good listening ears, and didn't respect me." I said.
"What happened?" Jailynn asked.
"A lot, but that's a story for another day," by now it was 8:00, "why don't we watch a movie until your bedtime, we can lay in your bed together."
"Okay, I love you sissy." Jailynn said.
"I love you, too" I said as I covered our bodies with a blanket as Jailynn snuggled up into my chest.
---------------------------------------------
I woke up the next morning with Jailynn snuggled up against me. I looked up at the clock. It's 6:45 I don't have to be at school until 8:30. I shut my eyes and drifted back to sleep.

Jailyn re-woke me 30 minutes later asking me to take her to school today. I told her I would and she hugged me. Not that I disliked the love and feelings from my little sister, but what is going on, she usually rarely talked to me... Now we were sleeping in the same bed, and she was asking me to take her to school. What happened during the one weekend I was away?

I grabbed my jacket, and my keys, then walked out the door. Jailynn was sitting on the front stoop waiting for me. "Ready?" I asked.

"Not really, but let's go anyway," Jailynn said.

I looked down at my phone, "You know school doesn't start for about 45 minutes, do you wanna talk?"

"No," she said in a flat voice.

"Jai. What happened? We haven't even slept in the same room, letalone bed, since dad died."

"Thats just it, every girl in school has a dad, I don't. They teased me, apparantley I'm a 'worthless whore' who tramps around and tries to get pity because I don't have a dad," a tear fell to the steps, "I don't Sam, I swear. All I want is for everyone to stop."

"Come on, let's go inside, we are gonna stay home today, but only today!" I said with a smile.

I walked in the house through the kitchen. I grabbed the phone and called Kasey, "Hey, Kasey, I need you today, we are taking a mental health day," I said laughing.

"Anyday for my best-friend!" she said laughing.

"Hi this is Dana Krystal," I said to the secretary lying through my teeth, "Jailynn won't be in today, she isn't feeling well and I'm keeping her home."

Walking into my mom's bedroom I told my mom she had to call Kasey and I in sick. She picked up the phone and called the school. When she hung up, she looked at me, "What's going on?"

"I'm spending the day with Jailynn and Kasey. Jailynn needs a mental health day," I said.

I walked out not listening to her response. Kasey was in the kitchen eating a banana.

"What's up, babe?" she asked laughing at her own joke.

"You will find out eventually," I said turning to my room, "Let's go doofus."
