Chapter Twelve: The Demon Seed

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(One day, at the Xiaolin Temple)

Omi and Kimiko were playing against Raimundo and Clay in a game of chess, both teams standing opposite of each other of the giant chessboard on the ground that had large, human-sized chess pieces on it.

"Ruby of Ramses!" the short monk pointed the Shen Gong Wu at one of the white pieces. "Dragon to Monkey Three!"

The chess piece moved and slammed into the other team's black piece, destroying it.

"Nice move, Omi." Kimiko praised, high-fiving the other monk.

"Yes!" Omi danced in victory. "I am in heat!"

"No, Omi, you're on fire! On fire!" Raimundo corrected from across the board.

"Okay, enough jawing." Clay said. "Now it's our turn. Let's see." he looked at the board and thought about what move to make. "Tiger to-"

"No, no." the shortest monk suddenly appeared on his shoulder. "I have a better move."

"Omi, you're only suppose to be playing for one side." Kimiko told him.

"Yes, but they need all the help they can get." Omi took the Sword of the Storm from Raimundo's hands and jumped down. "Rooster to Ox Six! Sword of the Storm!"

He twirled the Wu and a cyclone came out, pushing the black chess piece into the white one and slamming it into pieces.

"Okay, my turn." the Japanese girl pulled out the Star Hanabi. However, it was suddenly taken from her hand.

"Not to worry, I have a clever plan." Omi said. "Star Hanabi!" he shot a blast of fire to push a black chess piece that looked like snake into a white piece and then into two more black pieces and finally into three white pieces. "And that is game point!" he shouted as the chessboard was littered with destroyed chess pieces.

"We were suppose to be a team, Omi." Kimiko told him as she came over to him with the others.

"Then you should take pleasure in sharing in my triumph."

"Omi."

"Master Juno!" the short monk went over to the redhead as she was walking over. "Did you see my flawless victory?"

"Victory? Yes. Flawless? No." Juno crossed her arms under she chest, looking down at him. "I thought we've already had this talk. When you have a teammate, you need to work together with each other to help one another. You can't play for both sides."

"But-"

"If Kimiko did the same to you, would you be happy about it?"

"No, not really..." he admitted, his gaze turning to the ground.
