I was interrupted in my thoughts by the sound of roters. I looked up to see a helicopter coming. I relaxed when I saw the U.S mark on the side. I hurried to grab my journal and rushed back into the the house through the window. I went over to wake up Hesh.
"Hesh wake up, Elias, Merrick, and Keegan are back." I said still softly shaking awake. He groaned when I successfully got him to open his eyes.
He then sat up to rubb his slightly red eyes.
"Sleep okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah, did you finish the check list? " he asked me as he stood up to stretch.
"It's all saved in your computer." I answered as I turned around to put my notebook down.
"Thank you." He said as I felt arms around my waist.
"You know, Logan told me a story." I said
"What about?" He asked still holding me.
"About how the both of you became, Ghosts." I answered.
"Oh yeah, dad sure knew how to keep secret." He said with a smirk.
I then released his grip on me and walked over to a chair where his shirt was and threw it at him.
"Come on, lets go." I said as I waited for him to put the shirt on.
We then left the room together. There was then the sound of a door opening.
"We'll be expected to be back in an hour or so, we have orders to initiate this mission. But they want him alive." I overheard Elias's voice say. I wonder what was going on. Where were we going. More than likely, we were going after Rorke.
"Hey dad." Hesh said as we reached the end of the stairs.
"Hesh, you look better than you did last night." Elias said with a smile to Hesh.
"Yeah, I know. Actually, Violet forced me to get some sleep." Hesh replied.
"Really? Thank you, I wanted him to get some rest before I left, but he was so concerned for you. Are you doing okay?" Elias spoke as he turned his attention to me.
"I'm doing okay, it was just a headache." I replied with a smile.
"Alright then, we'll we have to get everyone to the base for preperations. So get all your things together. We are supposed to be back in less hour." Merrick interrupted as he walked in through the door.
I nodded my head and ran back up stairs. As I entered my room, I felt a fimilure cold cold presence go over my body. Slightly shaken I then realized that it was my dad."Yes dad?" I asked as I sent over to grab my duffel bag from under my bed.
"Violet, remember I told you that I was going to to teach you how to protect yourself." He answered.
"I'm a little busy at the moment, we're about to leave and I need to pack my things, can we do it when we get there and I get my room?" I asked as I ran over into the restroom for some other things.
"No, I'm afraid we have to do it now." He said.
Not even bothering to ask why, I set the bag down on the ground, and made my way to the center of the room on the floor.
"I don't have enough time, Merrick said that we had to go." I argued.
"You forgot, when we talk to you, the time around you freezes. You won't miss anything. Calm down." He responded softly.
"Right." I answered feeling a bit stupid.
"Well I'm all ears, dad." I added.
"Alright, now lie down on your back and close your eyes." He then instructed.
Curiously, I obeyed and lied down across the soft carpet floor, closing my eyes as well.
"Inhale and exhale slowly. Concentrate on my voice and my voice only. Clear and empty your mind of everything." He continued.
Following everything he said, I started to feel something. I don't know what but it just feels like it's inside of me.
"For you to fully unlock your powers you must first know about them. You already know about Rorke. He's my brother, your uncle. The day when you were born we had both knew what you were. We just didn't know how. Me, Elias, and your mother knew what you were and how special you were too. And we didn't think that there was no reason for anyone to know. Being a Conduit at that time wasn't safe. Rorke saw it differently. He was a Ghosts back then. He wanted to use you to get rid of the Federation. To be a war hero. He thought that if he would teach you himself about it, you could kill them all when you were old enough. Once he explained what he was planning, I threatened him. Not out of hatred. Not because I didn't love him as my brother. But to protect you. I loved you so much, I couldn't even stand hearing about it. So I told him that he was never allowed to speak of you that way again.
It didn't end so greatly after that. We had stopped talking for a while, until one day he apologized. I remember he invited us out camping. I thought that it was his way of apologizing. So we accepted it.
And that's when it happened. When he tried to take you that night. To gain the powers, you have to know what happend that night." My father's voice sadly said.
