BACKSTORY▪️ Jade grew up in a divided family. She was raised by her mother in Florida with the help of her grandparents and her mother's good friend whenever her mother was busy planning a couple's wedding. She never knew who her father was, and she never asked since he never visited her. The only person she was familiar with—who was associated with Tony Stark—was James Rhodes. Her parents were never married; giving her the assumption that she wasn't planned, and her parents had only hooked up.
Her mother always taught her to stay true to herself, not letting anyone tell her to do so otherwise. Victoria also embedded in Jade's mind about how her father is a narcissist — one of the rich and powerful, who claims to be a philanthropist, but isn't. Victoria always stated that if Jade were to find Tony, he would change her.
However, when Jade was only eight years old, her mother had passed away due to a tragic car accident while Jade was in the backseat. She had to go to court where she saw her father for the first time as he fought so hard to claim custody, or else she would be handed off to her uncle, and or, the foster system.
That year, of late 2006, she moved across the country to live with her father in Malibu. Not knowing how to raise a child, and understanding what a kid should do, he allowed Jade in his lab. She watched him invent dozens of machinery and tools everyday until she began doing it herself. Tony had her homeschooled and by the time she was fourteen, she had graduated college with a STEM degree.
In 2012 was when she was abducted by her own uncle as he bypassed the guards in Stark Towers. His mission was to deliver her to Hunter Ivanov in Manchester as HYDRA scientists stabilised her to transform her into a "perfect" soldier. Due to this, she was sexually assaulted since the guards knew that she wouldn't be able to get pregnant. If she showed any type of emotion, she was reset through electrical currents into her mind. She was implanted with a bionic chip onto her nerves in the back of her neck as she was trained for six months before she was transformed into Nightshade, and was sent on her first mission to eliminate a senator with the Winter Soldier.
