BACKSTORY▪️ Kayrella Jones had a tough childhood. Just like her younger half-sister, she comes from a divided family. For eighteen years of her life, she was raised by a single father who worked two jobs just to support her and himself. When she had turned eighteen, André had informed her about her mother and she went looking for Victoria Greene.
When Kayrel had found her, she visited Victoria's home in Boca Raton. Victoria wasn't happy to see Kayrel when she figured out who she was. Kayrel had saw a five year old Jade Stark running up behind Victoria, hugging her leg and Kayrel lost it after that. She realised that her "mother" chose someone else, loved her with all her heart. . .and Kayrel only received abandonment from the woman who gave birth to her. She realised that all she ever was to Victoria was a drunken mistake.
After that, something changed within Kayrel once she left. She hated Jade because she had everything she ever wanted. Kayrel had grown up, not having that motherly touch, or someone that would understand when she was going through a rough time. Her father had never remarried.
It was never stated what her father did for a living, or what got her to walk down the path of working with the law.
But Kayrel became determined as she worked hard at a police academy where she had met her partner, Bradley DelGordo, in 2005. The two were both scouted by Maria Hill in 2011 to become level one agents in S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Hill had reassured them that they would stay as mission partners, but on their fifth mission together, something had gone wrong. Which have been mentioned a few times, but never elaborated.
The failed mission had split her friendship with Bradley apart and earned her to hold a massive grudge above his head as she refused to work with him again.
