Ok, this happened to me in REAL LIFE!
I met James Dashner! If you don't know who that is then what is wrong you!? Go to the hospital and get your brain checked! It's the author of the maze runner series!
Ok, here's how I met him. My school was giving out these permission slips to go to a field trip to go to library palooza. That's what the event was called. They said that it was on a Saturday. I groaned when I heard that part, but then I did a bit of research.
I found out that James Dashner would be there, along with a few other authors that I didn't recognize. The next day at school though, other kids wanted to go to library Palooza as well. There were so many that it would be hard to get a permission slip. Later, I found put why a bunch of students wanted to go to the Library Palooza (because I knew it wasn't because they love reading). See, one of their English teachers said that the students that go library Palooza don't have to do their next book report. All of the kids hated doing a book report, but I don't mind. Really, they just don't want to read a book (lazy people).
So when they were giving out permission slips again, a lot of people went after them. The librarian said to make a single file line, so naturally, all of the kids surrounded the librarian and grabbed one as fast as they could lime a bunch of wild animals. It was by luck (and the fact I'm short and can easily slip through people to get in and out of line, seriously, I'm a short seventh grader, I'm like 4.3 feet) that I managed to get a permission slip.
I got it signed and turned it in the next day. Then, on that Saturday, I got on the bus, and went to the high school where it was (I won't name a place for copy writing purposes). Every chance people got, they clapped and cheered for James Dashner. I felt bad for the other authors at the event. They didn't get as much cheering. James Dashner is a really funny guy.“What I like about being an author, is that were really famous in this building, but when we're out in public nobody recognizes us! You've probably walked right passed me at a store, and not even realize that it was me!" James Dashner said to us. The funny thing is, it's true!
So when I got in line to get my books sighed by him, I felt bad for the other authors again. Their lines weren't as long, but still pretty long. But James Dashner's line was so long that we filled up the entire cafeteria! And it was a big high school cafeteria. And once again people said a single file, orderly line, so (naturally) everyone ran to get get into line, and everything was just a mess. When I say they ran, I literally mean, they ran at James.
In other author was D.J MacHale. He is the author the book Sylo.
Ok, this week's topic to write about: If you met J.K.Rowling (And I swear that if you don't know who this is, I will hunt you down, and punch you In the face with my tiny hands!) at the store, what would you say to her?
