A Quinceanera (please inform me if I have misspelled it) is a celebration of a girl turning to woman hood.

It's a big party full of all of the girls' friends and family. In that night. It's all about her and her special day.

Normally, this is celebrated when the girl turns fifteen. At the party, it's a Mexican tradition for the girl to receive a doll (usually it will resemble her). The doll is supposed to be the last one she ever receives, meaning that her childhood is at a close.

But more and more recently, it's starting to become a national thing. People in America have started to like the idea of this big celebration. But most people just call it a sweet 16

The reason why I am writing about this is because;

1. This is a fun fact
2. This is a random story
3. I just went to a sweet 16 last night

I had fun. The whole building was full of colors, and there was amazing food. I danced all night. It was my friend Brittney's (that is how you spell it, it's just uncommon) celebration. She wasn't kidding when she said it would be a sweet 16.

There was a ton of candy and other decorations that looked like candy, all over the place. Of course all of the little kids were stealing all the candy, but that's what it was for.

I won't deny that I also took some candy. And Brittney had on a big pink dress that sparkled and made her smile shine. She wore a tiara on her head.

I had no idea how she was able to dance in that big dress, but I was just happy to see her, for we both go to different schools now, and I miss her.

She looked happy at her sweet 16, and that's all that matters; they girl being happy when becoming a woman.
