I take a sip of the cola in my hand. The fizz was stronger than I expected which made my face twist.  When Dally saw my face cringe he laughed. "How's this girl gonna drink liquor if she can't even handle a coke." He scoffed.

"Leave her alone Dal." Soda says. He pats my back before handing a wrench to Steve.  We're all on the front porch of the house talking and hanging out while Steve and Soda are fixing Dal's car. I'm friends with everyone here except him. So when I heard that he was coming over it took all the strength in me to walk over and put a tough face on.

It's just that Dally picks on me often. But who doesn't he pick on honestly? I know, I know. I'm being too sensitive. I already knew the gang included him and I was very aware that he was a mean greaser. But couldn't he just tone down the teasing for just one second?

An hour passes and much to my delight Dally actually starts talking about something else and forgets all about pestering me. Thirty minutes or so passes.

"Alrighty the cars fixed up now." Steve breathes out while exiting beneath the car. "Thanks toothy." Dally slaps him on the back after throwing him a towel."Wipe yourself you're sweatin everywhere. Didn't know you wash cars too." Such a nice guy. Twobit chuckles like crazy. Steve gives a sarcastic "ha ha."

I walk inside the house to grab my bag. As I'm about to step out I hear my name. I see the boys surround the car listening to Dally talk. I hide behind the wall and eavesdrop on them. "...I just don't get it. She's a weirdo. Barely even talks to me.

Why does she hang out with us again?"  "Met Pony at school, works at the DX with Steve and Soda. Also lives on the same street as Johnny. She's preeetty aquatinted with the gang Dal." Twobit points out.  "Yeah she's nice and keeps these nut jobs outta trouble." Darry chimes in and messes up Soda and Pony's hair.  Soda giggles and Pony pouts.

"I mean she's real nice Dal. Whatcha got against against her? Thought you'd love havin a girl in the gang." Soda asks. "I don't know. Coulda picked a prettier broad is all I'm saying." Dally claimed. "Fucking asshole." I grit my teeth. My eyes water up, but I refuse to let any tears fall. I grab my bag and walk out.

"Hey guys I'm gonna head out." I yell. I want to get the fuck out of here so I walk quickly.  "Already?" They ask.  "Want me to walk ya?" Johnny offers.  "Aren't you spending the night here? I don't want you to have to walk back. Don't worry about it I'll be fine." With that I say goodbye as do they. Besides Dally. He just puffs his cigarette away.

Dally's POV: The front gate closes and she's gone."The hell was that?" Johnny nagged at me. What's up is ass? "The hell was what?" I sighed. I played with the cigarette between my fingers.  "She left pretty early. She usually stays longer. Think she's alright?" Darry asks.

"She looked like she was about to cry! Probably heard us talkin!" Pony cried.  So what?! Like I give a damn. They shoulda picked a tougher chick to be around then. She's one of those touchy types. Always quiet and just stares. But for some reason the group takes her side! They all look at me with disappointment as if I'm a fucking child.

"What?!" I snap, throwing my cigarette bud on the ground.  Johnny softens his look. "You should apologize. You really hurt her feelings. An-and we like the gir-"  "I ain't saying shit to her. Y'all can go jack each other off now, see ya later." I snarled.  I wave em off and drive into the street on full speed.

Those guys ruined my buzz. If they said just one more thing to piss me off I swear I'd lose my shit. I run my hand through my hair before lighting another smoke. What was so great about little miss Y/N anyways? The silent, no-speaking, tensed up Y/N? Speak of the devil!  I hit the brakes a little too fast that I jolt.
