During the events that happened Y/N and Mai, were in Italy alongside Soul and Maka, who was then captured by Esdeath. Y/N and Mai had ended up fighting the witch only for Y/N to 'spare' her, with Soul and Maka fully awake, Esdeath now has to handle both, but it seems she isn't the only one alone as Shaula makes her presence
Narrator's POV
Y/N held Mai as Esdeath summoned her rapier
Esdeath: Shall we dance?
Y/N: I'm ready
They dashed at each other as their blades clashed
Maka: Y/N! You don't need to do this
Y/N: (without looking) I'll be fine, just get out of here
Esdeath: They're not going anywhere
They then trade blows, Esdeath went to cut his head but he dodged and kicked her feet making her fall to the ground
Maka: We have to help them
Soul: He said we have to focus on getting out of here, and I can tell you're still shook up
Maka: I'm not
Soul: Yes you are
He swung the blade down but she dodged it and punched him in the face so hard making him tumble
Y/N: Damn it!
She struck the blade down but he blocked it, he pushed her back and slashed but she ducked down and slashed his thigh
Y/N: Aaaaaahhh!
Maka/Soul/Mai: Y/N!
He fell to his knees holding the womb and Esdeath kicked him in the face
Esdeath: You're too weak
She started at Soul and Maka who were shocked at what happened
Esdeath: I would let you live but I've changed my mind
She walked up a bit and charged only for Y/N to tackle her down, he pinned her down from moving. He looked at Maka and Soul
Y/N: You have to go now!
Esdeath: Get off me!
She tried pushing him down but she couldn't, instead, she rolled on her side making him fall off, he dropped Eternal Feather
Y/N: I can't let her get to them
She stood on her knee and extended her arm
Esdeath: You're dead
She launched the shard at them only for Soul to tackle Maka to the ground, the ice shard went through the door
Soul: You're okay?
Maka: Yeah
They then saw her running at full speed, then up close she struck down but they rolled to the side, she looked at them in disgust
Esdeath: Just die already
She was then tackled by Y/N who slammed her into the door, she tried punching him but he grabbed her arm and threw her to the side
Y/N: Stay away from them
Esdeath: You're always in the way! JUST DIE ALREADY!
Maka: Y/N...you have to stop
Y/N: Not until she dies
He charged at her and they clashed again, Maka then got up and held Soul's hand
