Past: Chapter 13

", I get to see you again"

*****Two years later*****

Touya trudged down the street trying to keep his bandages in place. His father had refused to let him train anymore. Then had said he didn't need the bandages if he wasn't going to train. He hadn't really wanted to train before this but he didn't want Shoto to be forced to do the horrible training. That had been going well until Touya found out his father had been lacking on training. Training Shoto instead.

Shoto instead. Shoto. Touya gritted his teeth angrily. It wasn't that he hated Shoto, he was his brother. But he had seen them training, Shoto had been having fun. That made Touya's blood boil, all that he had done....

He shook himself out of that mind set, no reason to be angry he still loved his brother.

Touya stopped thinking he heard a familiar voice. He looked around for the source of it. He couldn't find where the voice had come from so he figured it was nothing. Then Touya saw a flash of crimson and honey golden paired together. 

He froze.

No way, that couldn't be...Keigo...could it? That was impossible, Keigo hadn't been allowed to do anything much less leave the facility he was practically raised in. That couldn't be him. But Touya found himself walking to the colors. 

He pushed through the crowd watching the person as they argued, yeah that was Keigo. No one would argue with someone else about money like that. Touya forced the words out "Hey..." he put a hand on Keigo's shoulder.

Keigo felt a hand on his shoulder he turned slightly pissed at someone for touching him and saw the eyes. Beautiful burning eyes. "Touya?" he said the name slipping out. He barely recognized his old friend. His hair was streaked with white and patches covered his face, but his eyes were the same. He expression lit up "Keigo" was all he said. Keigo remembered what he was doing he turned back to the mad who was trying to cheat him out of his money. 

"Look I can count and I know you probably can to so lets agree that I gave you the right amount of money and leave" Keigo said. "what? No way I'm not-" the man started "okay thanks bye!" Keigo said he snatched Touya's hand and shot down the street sprinting. "holy fuck-" He heard Touya curse.

Keigo stumbled to a stop "hah that was fun" he stated breathing heavily. "Keigo, didn't think I'd see you again" he heard Touya say. Keigo forced a laugh "yeah I didn't think I'd see you" Keigo was thoroughly regretting the full speed sprint now, his ribs ached painfully and he was pretty sure he'd opened a old cut.

He winced placing a hand over his chest hoping to dull the pain of his broken bones. "so did you?" 

Keigo blinked "did I what?" he asked. "give that guy the right amount of money"  Touya finished. Keigo paused to look at his surroundings, buildings to the right, mostly sidewalks to the right, they were standing in the middle on a grassy field with the sidewalks surrounding the patch he turned back to Touya "nah"

Touya stifled his laughter. "of course you didn't" he said a small smile on his lips.

Touya had noticed instantly that Keigo was off. His golden eyes didn't have that same shine of happiness, just a dull unfeeling gaze. He hated that. Touya also didn't miss the way his friends breaths were short and rapid lacking the larger gasps for breath Touya himself was doing.

Then his hand moved to his chest pressing. Touya knew that movement, he had done it far to often to not notice someone else do it.

"Kei, you fine right?" he asked. Keigo looked startled for a moment "oh yeah Touya I'm fine...did you just call me 'Kei'?" he asked. Touya blinked at his choice of words "I guess I did" he muttered slightly embarrassed"

Keigo had a thoughtful expression then he stepped toward Touya and hugged him. 

"I'm glad I get to see you again"
