The chauffeur opened Leo's door from the other side while Leo's guard opened my door.Leo walked to my side of the car and offered me his arm."How generous of you,Leo."
"It'd be weird if I didn't."I gave him a small forced smile as I didn't really feel like it in that moment.
"I need to take you to the Dean's office.He will be showing you around,taking you to your dorm room and giving you your timetable."I nodded."Seems like you are leading the way."
The sun was up and the academy compus looked amazing.Walking to the building where Dean's office was,I did not expected this enviorment.But here I am.
Leo knocked on the Dean's door."Come in.""I'll go in first,if it is alright with you."I nodded."Sure.Go ahead."
He walked into the Dean's office and a minute later,Leo called me in.Going into the office,I expected to see him but...I also didn't expect to see him.
"Mr.Bassett,pleasure to meet you."His gaze shifted behind me."Mr.Gomard,you may leave.I got Lady Allard from here."Leo looked at me and I gave him a subtle nod.
"Welcome to the academy,Reine."I sighed."Alain Marcel Allard,my big brother who neglected the family entirely.You seem...significantly happy here."
He came behind his desk and took my hand to kiss the front of it."Don't mind if I..."I subtly took my hand back."...refuse,brother."
He backed away."I never meant to leave you,Célia."I stepped away."That is the cheapest lie I have ever heard,Alain."I looked around his office.
"Let me make one thing extremely clear,Alain.I do not want to be known that I am related to you no more than you do not want to be known that you are related to me."
"I'm still glad to see you,Reine."I nodded."Well,yeah,I'm not.I am not glad to see you.Not after a whole decade.So,excuse me if I want to stay mad at you for a little longer.Maybe another decade,who knows?"
He gave me an understanding look before leading the way around the campus.Showing me which classes I will be taking in which building.
While we were walking towards the main building,Alain stopped."Can I ask you something?""Depends,Mr.Bassett.What is the question?"
"Are you still not allowed to see or contact your family from the other side without your father's permission?"It pained me to know I wasn't allowed.And I answered with honesty.
"Then,we'll move onto the next building.""But we didn't look at this one,yet.You stopped right before we got in."
"Well,this is the wrong route,I just realized that it was the wrong one."I sighed."I am many things,Mr.Bassett.However,I am not a fool."
"I didn't say you were.""You didn't have to,Mr.Bassett.Your implication was enough.I do not care what your reasons may be,I just want to move on with this 'tour' of yours."
"Do you want to head back to the cafeteria?"I nodded."It would be gre-"I froze at the sight of Frank.My other half brother.That is why Alain asked me if I was allowed or not.He knew Frank was here.
My jaw dropped and when I finally swallowed my words and feelings,I felt the hot tear drop fall.I gulped as Frank saw me too.He froze on the spot like I did.
My chest tightened and I had to pull it together,I knew that.That is why I looked away.I wiped it off subtly and turned back to Alain."Bathroom?""That way."
I walked in and wiped it all away as I dried the water droplets with the paper towel.I remembered only then that I was supposed to call Aceline.
"I forgot to call.It is absolutely on me.I am so sorry,Aceline."She giggled."Relax,Reine.It's alright.How long has it been since you landed?"
