||Present Day||
Scout was limping around her house by use of her one crutch, as she was a half-broken human being still, though she had gotten the cast off of her arm, and her leg a couple of weeks ago, as of today.
It had been just over 2 months, since she had been brutally injured and she knew, that Asher had left the Valley, to go and find the balance in his life.
She looked around at the areas around her, as all she could see, was where the fight had gone down all in the house.
Asher surrounded by traitors in a huge circle, being beaten on by the seven or so Serpent traitors.
Sam, frantically running away from Tory Mills, and Scout being thrown mistakenly, into the middle of their fight.
The chaos that ensued, after Hawk had switched sides once again, and the fight was apparently "won" by the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang, and they were trying to get Tory to give up.
"Hey, you okay?" Scout looked over her shoulder to see Eli, who looked a bit unsure now, about just whether he was even welcome in the LaRusso household again.
"Yeah, I'm okay." She murmured and he chuckled a little bit, as he held out the mail to her.
"He sent a letter for you. I guess that he figured, that he owed you a really good explanation in his own words, as it were. One that wasn't transcribed at all, by me." He said and she nodded a bit.
"I'll, uh, see you at Miyagi-Do." She says quietly and Hawk nodded a little in understanding, as he walked out of the LaRusso house, as Scout limped to the kitchen table.
She used a letter opener and cut the envelope cleanly open, as she looked at the letter, still folded in her hand a bit crumpled, as if he hadn't had time to fold it properly down the middle.
She exhaled heavily and unfolded it quickly, just before she lost her nerves on the matter entirely.
"Hey Scout.
I know that you are probably... no definitely, still really pissed off at my snap decision to leave without telling anybody but Hawk, of all people about my plan.
I just wanted to clarify a few things and clear the air, as to why I did what I did, and why I did it now.
It had nothing to do with you or your condition, Scout. That was my first point... god, I sound like I'm writing a fucking essay now..."
Scout couldn't help but laugh at that statement, in between the tears, that started to burn her eyes, and they all eventually, spilled over and began to fall down her cheeks.
"Scout, the main reason for me leaving... was because you can't fight for something that you don't really believe in.
I can't fight to be that one person who can make you happy, all above all of the other people and other guys in the world, because I just can't be that guy.
I have made too many mistakes and I can't keep making the same ones, over and over again.
I can't make you happy, Scout. At least I can in a few ways. But, not in the way that you deserve, Scout LaRusso.
I've accepted it and I walked away because, there was no way in hell, I would be able to keep away and out of your business, if I was still in your life and still, a five minute drive away. You can keep the Serpent jacket, and they will always stand behind you, but you can't keep holding onto the past.
I learned that lesson the hard way and I hope that you'll never have to. Scout I have homework for you.
You find someone, that one someone who can anchor your emotions, your connection and... when that person becomes your anchor, your entire world, then, I will come back. I swear to you, on my life, that I will.
But you can't move forward, if you keep hanging onto the past.
Love you Scout, but it can't happen."
Scout folded up the letter again and she looked at the crumpled up piece of paper, that she was ready to throw into the fire.
"Motherfucker." She whispered and tears began to fall from her eyes at a steady pace, and she shakes her head at the words 'Love you Scout, but it can't happen.' "Stupid fucker." She would barely whisper now, as she was wiping at her eyes rather fiercely, and she punched the table with her good hand, and she winced.
"So, he wants me to find a new anchor? Then he asked for it, son of a bitch." She said coldly out loud, as she spoke to nobody but herself, and she'd walk quickly away, leaving the ball of paper on the table, alone and quite abandoned.
