~Deacon's point of view~
We spent the rest of yesterday talking about random things. I didn't let Zane go at all. She didn't complain. At some point, we're going to need to talk. I know that she's going to have more questions. I'll tell her anything that she wants to know. I am lying here watching her sleep. We didn't have a choice but to sleep on the same couch.
It was the best night of sleep I've had in a very long time. I won't force her into anything. I just want to be in my son's life. As I lay here looking at her, I seriously want to take time off. I want to spend every waking hour with them. I know that I can't. I can't force myself into her life. I've thought about her every day for the last four years; She hasn't left my mind. I knew that I was attracted to her body. I didn't know that she would be absolutely beautiful.
The best part of it all is I have a son. He's a carbon copy of me. He's perfect. I didn't want kids with Sia; I wouldn't have even attempted to. I wanted kids with someone that I could be with forever. I don't know if that will happen here. He's here, and I can't change that. I'm going to make the best of it.
The door opens, and Daniel walks in. I'm not moving. I'm not waking her up.
Deacon: "What's up?"
I whisper. He holds up a bag.
Daniel: "I figured that you would need this."
He whispers as well.
Deacon: "You went to my house?"
Daniel: "Hell no. I went to Mom and Dad's."
Deacon: "You didn't tell them anything, did you?"
Daniel: "No."
She moves and about rolls off the couch. I grab her.
Kirsten: "What the...."
Deacon: "You almost fell off the couch."
Kirsten: "Oh."
Deacon: "Good morning."
Kirsten: "Morning."
She sits up.
Kirsten: "Good morning, Daniel."
Daniel: "Good morning Kirsten."
I see a look come across her face. I know that she wants to ask something.
Deacon: "What?"
Kirsten: "How does Daniel fit in all this?"
Deacon: "He's my little brother."
Kirsten: "Oh. I have so many questions."
Deacon: "I know that you do, Sweetheart. We will talk after I get off."
Kirsten: "Ok."
I know she's uncomfortable. I turn my attention to Daniel.
Deacon: "How did things go with Meredith. Daniel?"
Daniel: "We talked over lunch and exchanged numbers."
Deacon: "That's good."
Daniel: "She's definitely different than what I thought she was. I'm definitely interested. I don't think she is into me."
Kirsten: "Give her time. The three of us have only been with the three of you. It's a lot for us to handle too."
