~Deacon's point of view~

Last night was incredible. She is everything that I thought she was. We're definitely going to have to talk. It was so hard not to tell her that I love her. She didn't need to hear it like that. She keeps a baby monitor in her room. I understood why; I heard Zane playing in his room. I know she's exhausted, so I let her sleep, and I go get him.

This house is huge. Thankfully all five bedrooms are on the same side of the house. I walk to his room and stand at the door. He doesn't see me. I just stand and watch him for a while. I feel arms come around my waist. Immediately turn and kiss her.

Kirsten: "Good morning."

Deacon: "Good morning, Sweetheart."

It's different waking up with her the next day. It's different being with them, period. I wouldn't want it any other way. "

Deacon: "We need to talk at some point today."

Kirsten: "I agree."

All of a sudden, I feel something hit my back, then a fit of laughter.

Kirsten: "He threw a ball at you."

Deacon: "Oh, did he now?"

Kirsten: "Mmhmm."

I kiss her quickly and turn towards Zane. I pick him and tickle him. Nothing is better than his laughter.

Zane: "Stop, Daddy."

I laugh and set him down.

Zane: "I go potty."

Deacon: "Ok. Do you know where it is?"

He was showed everything last night. He's three, so I ask to be sure. He shakes his head no. He slides his hand in mine, and I take him to the bathroom. Once he's done, I take him to his room.

Deacon: "Let's get you dressed."

Zane: "Ok."

I get him dressed. Help him brush his teeth. I then tell him to go find Mama. I go to my room. I take a shower, clean my wound, and head to the living room. She's on the couch. Zane is sitting on the floor watching TV.

She looked good. I can tell she showered. She had put effort into her appearance; she didn't need to. I love the simple look; I love her. This is what it's supposed to be like. The only thing missing is one or two more, maybe even three more kids running around.

Kirsten: "Are you just going to stand there and stare, or are you going to sit down?"

Deacon: "I was just admiring the stunning view."

The pink spreads across her face.

I move from where I'm standing and go sit next to him; my hand goes to her leg.

Kirsten: "Are you hungry?"

Zane: "I hungry."

Kirsten: "I know you are Zane."

Deacon: "I could eat."

I lean into her ear.

Deacon: "But not food."
