One Night Only

Chapter Sixteen- One year later.

~Kirsten's point of view~

~One year later~

I'm incredibly nervous. I'm sure Shawna and Meredith are too; we decided to have a triple wedding. It's been a blast to plan. We all agreed on everything, right down to who's walking us down the aisle. Daddy will walk me; Deacon's dad is walking Shawna. Her dad passed shortly after the bakery fire. Darren is walking Meredith down. Her dad has never been around; my dad paid for it all. He let us have any and everything that we wanted. We all had one weird request, but he agreed to it.

All of us have had babies.

Taylor Samuel and Tyler Deacon Colton are Shawna and Sam's. They look exactly like Sam. They are three weeks old.

Victoria Elaine Casselberry is Meredith and Daniel's. She is a mix of both parents. She is ten months old.

Then there is Danielle Lydia Casselberry. She's got her daddy's eyes and is wrapped around his finger. She just turned nine months old.

I guess it's not really a weird request. We asked for wagons for the babies. The men will walk us down, and we will be pulling the wagons. Zane is our ring bearer. He has all six rings; he's now five. He also had Deacon wrapped around his finger. I gave up even trying.

We have three different photographers. Daddy insisted on that. We have been separated the last two hours; we've all finally met back up. Darren was thankful he had all five kids.

We all had the same wedding planner. She did a fantastic job. I tried to set Darren up with her. He wasn't having it. I'll get him out there eventually.

Shawna: "I'm so nervous."

Kirsten: "I think we all are."

Meredith: "Did any of you imagine that one night would lead to all of this?"

She waves her finger around.

Kirsten: "I didn't."

I really didn't.

Shawna: "Me either."

I'm damn sure glad it did.

Deacon and I are meant to be together. There is no question about it. This is not the beginning of the rest of our lives. Deacon kissing me after Zane's surgery was the beginning of the rest of our lives.

Meredith and Daniel have been inseparable since they met. They are like Deacon and me.

Sam. My sweet, lovable Sam. He fought for a long time. Even proposed before he admitted feelings. The day he found out she was pregnant, he told her that he loved her. He's been devoted to her ever since.

Between Deacon, Daniel, Sam, and my parents, this wedding turned out to be huge. The girls and I invited our bakery employees. We closed it for the day, Deacon and Sam invited their clinic staff. Daniel switched police departments; he now works for Nolensville. He has people from both departments.

When the girls found out they were pregnant, my dad bought each of them a house. We all live within five miles of each other. He wanted all of "his girls" close together. None of them argued. He told them to pick anything they wanted, and he'd buy it.

Sam and Shawna picked a dark gray one-story four-bedroom two-and-a-half-bath home... 

Meredith and Daniel picked a light blue two-story five-bedroom two-bath home.

Darren moved into my old house. He loves it there. He said living in Nashville was too far from Deacon. They have that twin thing. He also is close to my dad there.

Our pool is still the hangout spot. It doesn't bother us at all; I've had Dani in the water since she was born. I also work with Tory. I can't wait to get my life hands on the twins. Sam already said I could. Shawna said she was too nervous to do it.

Carter: "You girls ready?"

The three of us group hug. We have bonded anyway. This makes it even more so.

Kirsten: "Ready!"

I'm so excited.

Meredith: "I'm ready."

Shawna: "Let's do this!"

Kirsten: "That got us into this."

Darren: "And none of you three would change it for the world."

Meredith: "Nope!"

Shawna: "Nope!"

Kirsten: "Nope!"

We all three said at the same time.

We link arms with our people, and we grab our wagons. As the doors open, I lock eyes with Deacon. He takes my breath away.

I love him more today than I did yesterday. I'll love him more tomorrow than I do today.
